Cage Combat champion Paulina “Firefox” Granados looks for her second straight professional victory when she steps back into the cage at Legacy Fighting Championship 20 on May 31st in Corpus Christi, Texas. Granados faces boxer and jiu-jitsu practitioner Maria Lopez in an atomweight bout.
Legacy FC officials announced plans for the preliminary card matchup this past week. Granados has yet to taste defeat in her five-fight career and she is coming off of a Unanimous Decision victory in her professional debut this past month. Lopez will make her pro MMA debut in the 105-pound fight.
Granados (1-0-0 pro; 4-0-0 amateur) capped off her amateur career with a five-round title victory over Stephanie “The Cylone” Alba in an action-packed December rematch. She then dropped down to 105 pounds for her March 23rd pro debut in front of her hometown Corpus Christi fans and posted a clear-cut Unanimous Decision victory over Washington native Sarah “The Midget” Lagerstrom. Now one of the atomweight division’s top young prospects, Granados looks to keep her winning streak alive when she takes on MMA newcomer Lopez (0-0-0) next month. Lopez faces a tough opponent in her pro debut, but she is a well-rounded competitor with experience in boxing and grappling tournaments.
Legacy Fighting Championship 20 takes place on May 31st at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The bout between Granados and Lopez will be a part of the local preliminary card.
