Three More Bouts Confirmed For Invicta FC 5 Preliminary CardThree additional bouts have been confirmed for the preliminary portion of the upcoming Invicta Fighting Championships 5 card on April 5th in Kansas City, Missouri. Among them is an atomweight matchup between unbeaten striker Jodie Esquibel and top-ranked Australian standout Alex Chambers.

Undefeated bantamweights collide when amateur prospect River “Ruckus” Jones makes her pro debut against Nebraska’s Lauren Barefoot. Veronica “The Heartbreaker” Rothenhausler looks for her second straight victory for Invicta FC when she takes on veteran “Miss” Mollie Estes at 145 pounds.

Esquibel (3-0-0), a talented boxer who has developed a well-rounded game, remains unbeaten in her young MMA career. After two victories under the Jackson’s MMA Series banner, Esquibel made a successful Invicta FC debut this past month with a razor-thin Split Decision victory over the previously undefeated “Lightning” Liz McCarthy. Chambers (3-1-0) previously reigned atop Australia’s 115-pound women’s division and now makes the move down to atomweight for her North American debut. She is coming off of a quick and devastating first-round TKO victory over long-time Japanese contender Mika “Future Princess” Nagano on the all-female Brace For War 17 card in October.

Jones (6-0-0 amateur) is the latest in a series of British Columbian fighters to join the Invicta FC ranks. The 28-year-old already holds victories over current Invicta FC competitors Marciea “Black Widow” Allen and Cheryl “Kid Chaos” Chan, and most recently captured the AM Ford bantamweight title by defeating Jade “Quiet Riot” De Haas in April. Four of Jones’s wins have come via a form of knockout. Barefoot (1-0-0) also went undefeated as an amateur, with four wins and one no decision. She earned finishes in three of her four amateur victories and began her pro career with a first-round TKO stoppage of Invicta FC 1 fighter Ashleigh Curry in August. She looks to hand Jones her first defeat in two months’ time.

The bout between Rothenhausler (1-0-0) and Estes (1-1-0) was first reported by The MMA Corner earlier this month. Following back-to-back five-second knockouts in amateur bouts, former Tuff-N-Uff champion Rothenhausler made a big statement in her pro debut at Invicta FC 4. Rothenhausler stopped fellow striker Katalina Malungahu to earn Knockout of the Night honours. Estes amassed an impressive 7-1 record as an amateur before turning pro with a Unanimous Decision victory in October 2011. At Invicta FC 1, Estes started off strong against Olympic bronze medallist wrestler Randi Miller before eventually succumbing to strikes in the third round. She now looks for her second pro win.

Invicta Fighting Championships 5 takes place on April 5th and is targeted for the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. The event is headlined by an Invicta FC Atomweight Championship bout between champion Jessica Penne and Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson. The inaugural Invicta FC Flyweight Championship is up for grabs when Barb “Little Warrior” Honchak battles Vanessa Porto.
