Three More Fights Announced For UFC On FOX 1 CardThree additional fights have been added to the upcoming UFC On FOX 1 card on November 12th in Anaheim, California. Among them is a lightweight contender’s bout between former WEC champion Ben “Smooth” Henderson and one-time Strikeforce 155-pound titleholder Clay “The Carpenter” Guida.

In other action on the card, Japanese superstar Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto will clash with UFC newcomer Darren “BC” Uyenoyama in a bantamweight bout, while featherweights Cub Swanson and Ricardo Lamas square off at 145. All three fights were officially announced by the UFC earlier today.

Henderson (14-2-0) and Guida (29-11-0) are both in the midst of winning streaks and a victory for either will likely set up a UFC Lightweight Championship bout early next year. Henderson has won twice inside the Octagon since losing his WEC title to Anthony “Showtime” Pettis in December, while Guida has risen from gatekeeper to contender status on the strength of four straight wins; including a Unanimous Decision victory over Pettis in his most recent outing.

Yamamoto (18-4-0, 1 NC) made his long-awaited Octagon debut in February, but was out-wrestled by Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and suffered a Unanimous Decision defeat. He now welcomes Uyenoyama (6-3-0) to the UFC in what may be a must-win fight for the Japanese standout. Uyenoyama has not competed for one year since upsetting then-champ Shuichiro Katsumura in a non-title Shooto bout. He has stopped four opponents to date and holds a notable win over Rambaa “M-16” Somdet.

Swanson (15-4-0) has won two of his last three fights since suffering a brutal eight-second stoppage loss to reigning UFC Featherweight Champion José “Scarface” Aldo at WEC 41 in 2009. He has yet to compete in 2011 due to facial injuries, however, and will face a solid test in Lamas (10-2-0), who has tasted defeat just once in his last five fights and is coming off of an impressive stoppage of Matt “The Real One” Grice at UFC Live 4 in June.

UFC On FOX 1 takes place on November 12th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The event will be headlined by a UFC Heavyweight Championship bout between Cain Velasquez and Junior “Cigano” dos Santos.
