Ronda Rousey vs Sarah D'Alelio Now Set For August 12thJust two days after announcing the fight, Strikeforce has made a change to the upcoming 145-pound women’s bout between “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey and Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio. The matchup will now take place at Strikeforce Challengers 18 on August 12th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rousey and D’Alelio were previously set to face off on the undercard of the Strikeforce: “Fedor vs Henderson” event on July 30th, but will now receive an opportunity to compete on the televised main card in August. Strikeforce Challengers 18 will be the second edition of the series in Las Vegas.

Both Rousey (2-0-0) and D’Alelio (4-1-0) will make their promotional debuts in the August fight and both have experienced delays on the way to their new home in Strikeforce. Rousey has thus far racked up five mixed martial arts wins, with none lasting 60 seconds, while D’Alelio will look to rebound from her first career loss as she aims to end the hype behind Rousey, an Olympic bronze medallist in judo.

Strikeforce Challengers 18 takes place on August 12th at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a lightweight bout between Jorge “J.G.” Gurgel and Joe Duarte.

  1. Much better time slot.

  2. Sarah is strong and has great jiu-jitsu. The thing is Ronda’s speed. The one fighter as fast as she is Cris Cyborg.

Anyways, it would be interesting to see how Ronda handles a fight that lasts over 2 minutes..
