Though it was not his best performance to date, Strikeforce champ Alistair Overeem emerged victorious on June 18th in his rematch with former rival Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum. Overeem now advances on in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix and enters the top three in the division’s rankings.
In women’s matchups, new Strikeforce signee “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey was victorious in her brief bout with Charmaine “Not So Sweet” Tweet and takes another step up the 145-pound ranks, while Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly’s win over Jessica “Evil” Eye propels her back towards the top five at 125.
I think Zoila needs some valid victories over serious competition in order to be ranked as a top ten fighter.
Also, besides her victory over Rosi, who has she fought in the 125 lb division to be ranked so high?
IMO, it doesn’t make sense that she is ranked above Megumi Fujii in the 115 lb division, and, yet, pound-for-pound, is below her.
Can’t believe that Cris is almost going unranked…
IMO, the top three and best representatives of women’s MMA are exactly Cris Cyborg, Megumi Fujii and Marloes Coenen.
