Jessica Eye To Face Aisling Daly At June 4 NAAFS EventUnbeaten prospect Jessica “Evil” Eye will return to the North American Allied Fight Series on June 4th. The Ohio native will face Irish standout Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly in a featured 125-pound bout as part of NAAFS: “Fight Night In The Flats 7.” The fighters jointly confirmed the planned bout earlier today.

MMARising.com first learned of the matchup last month. Originally targeted for a Cage Warriors card in Europe, Eye and Daly will instead square off in Eye’s home state. In the interim, Daly will still face Germany’s Sheila Gaff at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 41 on April 24th in North London.

Eye (3-0-0) racked up a perfect 5-0 record as an NAAFS amateur before turning pro last June. She then earned back-to-back wins in the promotion over Amanda LaVoy and Marissa Caldwell before travelling to Atlantic City, New Jersey for Ring of Combat 34 in February. Dominating late replacement opponent Ashley Nee, Eye captured the vacant Ring of Combat 130-pound women’s title. She will now return to NAAFS and the 125-pound division to face Daly, a noted striker who has tasted defeat just once.

Daly (10-1-0) opened her career with eight wins in 18 months, but has fought sparingly in recent years after promotions in Europe ceased operations. She made her Bellator Fighting Championships debut in August, but was defeated by veteran Lisa Ellis-Ward in the opening round of the promotion’s 115-pound women’s tournament. Returning to 125, Daly defeated Molly Helsel for Cage Warriors in November and is already poised to have a busy schedule in 2011. Before she faces Eye, Daly will clash with Sheila Gaff in April in an intriguing battle between well-rounded strikers.

With both presently ranked in the top ten at 125 pounds in the Unified Women’s MMA Rankings, Eye and Daly will both be looking to take one step closer to the top of the rapidly developing division.

NAAFS: “Fight Night In The Flats 7” takes place on June 4th at the Nautica Pavilion in Cleveland, Ohio.
