UFC Secures TV Deal With All Sports NetworkThe Ultimate Fighting Championship has secured a long-term broadcast deal with the Hong Kong-based All Sports Network (ASN). The 24-hour sports channel provides high-definition services to nearly a dozen countries in Asia, which expands the UFC’s total coverage to over 100 countries.

ASN will begin airing UFC events with a live showing of UFC 112: “Invincible” on April 10th from Abu Dhabi. The network will also air episodes of the popular “UFC Unleashed” show, as well as select seasons of The Ultimate Fighter reality series. Both presently air on SpikeTV in North America.

The deal with ASN will provide UFC programming to Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. ASN, a part of the Yes Television Limited group in Hong Kong, airs 24 hours per day in high-definition. The company’s CEO, Thomas Kressner, stated that ASN was “thrilled” to welcome UFC programming and listed the UFC as the “world’s fastest-growing sports organisation.”

The Ultimate Fighting Championship continues to try to make inroads into Asia, which UFC President Dana White believes to be a huge market for the promotion. Understanding the area’s history and appreciation for martial arts, White hopes that the deal with ASN will aid in increasing his company’s promotional efforts across the continent.

The UFC is already the largest pay-per-view content provider in the world.
