Taylor “Double Impact” Lapilus vs Caolán “The Don” Loughran
Round 1:
Lapilus used his jab to keep Loughran at bay early on, but Loughran lunged in with a one-two and then dropped levels for a takedown. Lapilus stayed on his feet and the fighters separated. Lapilus landed a jab-cross combo and Loughran threw an overhand right. He got Lapilus down to a knee and Lapilus stood back up. On the break, Lapilus landed a knee and he followed with two left hands before the bell. 10-9 Lapilus.
Round 2:
Loughran took Lapilus down in the second round and passed to mount. Lapilus tried to sit up against the cage and Loughran held him down. When Loughran transitioned to the back and attempted a rear-naked choke, he got too high and Lapilus shook him off. The fighters stood and Lapilus jabbed. He blocked a head kick and both men landed leg kicks late in the round. 10-9 Loughran.
Round 3:
After a brief timeout when Lapilus was kicked in the groin, action resumed and Loughran tried for a takedown against the cage. Lapilus defended and he landed jabs when the ighters separated. Loughran attempted two more takedowns, to no avail. He dove at Lapilus’s ankle and still could not get him down. Lapilus jabbed and landed a shovel uppercut. He scored with a quick one-two and punches were exchanged until the final bell. 10-9 Lapilus.
Winner: Taylor Lapilus by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 19-3-0.
Ange “The Last Ninja” Loosa vs Rhys “Skeletor” McKee
Round 1:
McKee jabbed early on and Loosa landed a big right hook. He swarmed on McKee with more punches and then took him down. Loosa landed punches to McKee’s face as McKee got back to his feet. McKee fought off a takedown and partially landed with a head kick. He had better success in the second half of the round by jabbing and mixing in kicks to Loosa’s body. More jabs and a leg kick landed for McKee late in the round. 10-9 Loosa despite McKee’s late success.
Round 2:
Loosa blocked a head kick and countered with a right hand. He cracked McKee with an overhand right and the fighters exchanged more punches until Loosa took McKee down. Loosa passed to side control and then to full mount. McKee got a leg in to get to half-guard and stood up, but he ate dozens of punches on the way up. Loosa continued to tee off with punches and he took a bloodied McKee back down. McKee got to a knee and Loosa peppered him with left hands to the face. 10-9 Loosa.
Round 3:
Loosa picked McKee up and slammed him down in the final round, then punched from the top while preventing McKee from standing. McKee eventually got to a knee and stood against the cage, but he was immediately slammed down again. McKee scrambled up and the fighters separated. The pace slowed as jabs were exchanged and Loosa shot in for a takedown. McKee defended and Loosa lost his balance. McKee hurt him with punches and Loosa staggered backwards. McKee backed him up with elbows and punches, but Loosa regained his composure and the round came to a close. 10-9 McKee due to the unexpected late rally.
Winner: Ange Loosa by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 10-3-0.
Nora Cornolle vs Joselyne “La Pantera” Edwards Laboriel
Round 1:
Cornolle kicked at Edwards’s lead leg in the opening minute and Edwards responded with a lead left hook. Cornolle threw a head kick and Edwards initiated a clinch. Cornolle kneed her in the body, but Edwards eventually got her down. When Edwards tried to pass to mount, Cornolle swept and took over top position. Close round. 10-9 Cornolle due to damage.
Round 2:
Edwards scored an early takedown in round two and Cornolle eventually worked back to a knee against the fence. Edwards took her back, but Cornolle shook Edwards off and the fighters separated. Edwards already looked tired and Cornolle landed a jab-cross combo. Edwards used a headlock throw to get Cornolle down into the scarf hold position. Cornolle took Edwards’s back and secured a body triangle. She hunted for a rear-naked choke before the bell. 10-9 Cornolle, just barely.
Round 3:
Early in the final round, Edwards backed Cornolle up with a combination, but Cornolle came back with three right hands and that led to a clinch against the cage. Cornolle kneed Edwards in the body until Edwards took her down into half-guard. Cornolle got back to full guard and elbowed Edwards from the bottom. Edwards used punches to set up a move to back control and she attempted a rear-naked choke. Cornolle managed to push Edwards’s arm up and escaped, and Edwards got too high on Cornolle’s back and fell off. The fighters stood and Edwards pressed forward with body kicks. Cornolle thwarted a takedown attempt and landed a knee in close. 10-9 Edwards.
Winner: Nora Cornolle by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 7-1-0.
“Ferocious” Farid Basharat vs Kleydson “K.R.” Rodrigues
Round 1:
Rodrigues opened the action with a head kick and he sprawled out of a Basharat takedown attempt. Rodrigues tried to jump on Basharat’s back, but Basharat shook him off and he took top position in Rodrigues’s half-guard. Basharat passed to mount, but Rodrigues exploded out from the bottom and got to his feet. Both men landed hard right hands and Basharat tripped Rodrigues to the mat. He elbowed from the top and Rodrigues countered with elbows from bottom position. Basharat locked on an arm-triangle choke and passed Rodrigues’s guard. The choke was tight and Rodrigues quickly tapped out.
Winner: Farid Basharat by Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) at 4:15 of round one. He improves to 11-0-0.
Jacqueline Cavalcanti vs Zarah “Infinite” Fairn dos Santos
Round 1:
Cavalcanti jabbed while moving from side to side as Fairn tried to close the distance. Cavalcanti kicked at Fairn’s lead leg and Fairn landed a right hook. More leg kicks scored for Cavalcanti Fairn landed nothing as Cavalcanti continued to throw leg kicks and time was called when she was poked in the eye. The fight continued after a lengthy break and nothing transpired in the final seconds of the round. 10-9 Cavalcanti.
Round 2:
Very little happened in the second round until Cavalcanti caught a kick and landed a counter right hand. She followed with a leg kick and a jab-cross combo. Cavalcanti landed a quick combination and Fairn pressed forward with punches to her head and body. She tried to clinch and Cavalcanti countered with three overhand rights to her temple. Late in the round, Cavalcanti landed a body kick and a right hook. 10-9 Cavalcanti.
Round 3:
Cavalcanti landed a strong leg kick early in the final round and followed with a one-two. Fairn tried to clinch and Cavalcanti cracked her with right hands to the face. Fairn finally landed two right hooks and Cavalcanti answered with one of her own. She sprawled out of a Fairn takedown attempt and landed one more right hand. 10-9 Cavalcanti. Not a good fight.
