Bill “Senor Perfecto” Algeo vs “Downtown” T.J. Brown

Round 1:
Algeo landed a jumping switch knee to the body and a leg kick, and the fighters exchanged punches in close. Brown threw a knee and a lead left hook. Algeo knocked Brown off-balance with two right hooks, but Brown got back to his feet and he landed a pair of uppercuts before Algeo took him down. He took partial back control, but Brown turned to his right and attempted a kimura on Algeo’s right arm. The fighters stood and Algeo landed a knee. Brown answered with one of his own and both men threw power hooks in close. Brown landed a left hook to the liver and he countered a body kick with a right hook. Algeo missed with a spinning wheel kick, but he landed a front kick to Brown’s face. Two right hooks scored for Brown and Algeo countered with two leg kicks. Good round. 10-9 Algeo by a slim margin.

Round 2:
Algeo stunned Brown with a knee and he followed with elbows to the side of his head as Brown tried to take him down. Algeo stayed on his feet and he dropped Brown with a short left jab. Algeo followed with punches on the ground from side control and then took Brown’s back. He locked on a tight rear-naked choke and Brown tapped out.

Winner: Bill Algeo by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 1:40 of round two. He improves to 17-7-0.

 

Brandon “Raw Dawg” Royval vs Matheus Nicolau Pereira

Round 1:
Nicolau circled on the outside and struck first with a one-two combo. He continued to circle, but ducked his head directly into a knee from Royval. Nicolau crumpled to the canvas and Royval blasted him with elbows on the ground until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Brandon Royval by KO (Knee & Elbows) at 2:09 of round one. He improves to 15-6-0.

 

Zak Cummings vs Ed “Short Fuse” Herman

Round 1:
Cummings connected with an early combination and he dropped Herman with a one-two as Herman tried to clinch. Herman survived follow-up punches from Cummings and got back to his feet. Cummings closed in with uppercuts and Herman lost his balance. He tried to set up an armbar, but illegally upkicked Cummings in the process and time was called. The fight was restarted on the feet and Herman was not docked a point. Cummings landed a left-right combo and he countered a right hook from Herman with an uppercut. Cummings landed a left hook to the body and Herman responded with one of his own. Cummings scored with two straight left hands and one more left hook just before the bell. 10-9 Cummings.

Round 2:
Cummings opened the second round with a right hook as Herman clinched with him. Cummings reversed the clinch and the fighters clashed heads as they exchanged left hands. Cummings held Herman against the cage, but Herman pushed him away and both men landed hooks in close. Cummings dropped Herman with a leg kick and Herman got back to his feet. Cummings cracked him with a left hook and then dropped him with another left hand soon after. Cummings landed three short elbows on the ground before Herman got back to full guard. Time was called when Herman landed another illegal upkick. Herman was docked one point and the fight continued. Cummings scored with two left hooks and a leg kick in the final seconds. 10-8 Cummings.

Round 3:
Herman fell after taking a leg kick from Cummings, who stood over him and kicked at his legs. Herman was brought back to his feet and Cummings landed a body kick and a left hook. He dropped Herman with another leg kick and forced him to stand back up. Herman connected with a three-punch combo, but Cummings broke Herman’s nose with a left hook. Blood poured from the nose and Cummings landed another left hook. He backed Herman up with a straight left and then dropped him with a final one-two to finish the lopsided fight.

Winner: Zak Cummings by TKO (Punches) at 4:13 of round three. He improves to 25-7-0.

 

Gillian “The Savage” Robertson vs Piera “La Fiera” Rodriguez

Round 1:
The fighters traded jabs in the first minute of the fight and Rodriguez landed a combination. Robertson pulled guard and postured for an armbar from the bottom. She scrambled up to her feet and then took Rodriguez down into half-guard. Robertson briefly passed to side control, but Rodriguez got back to half-guard and Robertson finished the round with two short elbow strikes. 10-9 Robertson.

Round 2:
Robertson immediately took Rodriguez down in round two. Rodriguez attempted a kimura from the bottom and Robertson spun out of it. She moved to side control and eyed a kimura of her own. Seconds later, Robertson passed to mount and she dropped elbows to Rodriguez’s face. Rodriguez got a leg in to get to half-guard momentarily, but Robertson passed to mount again. She bloodied Rodriguez with elbows and then attempted another kimura from side control. With one minute to go, Robertson returned to mount and then spun into an armbar. Rodriguez tapped out once, but the fight was not stopped for a few seconds after. Rodriguez protested the stoppage, but the single tap appeared to be confirmed by replays.

Winner: Gillian Robertson by Submission (Armbar) at 4:21 of round two. She improves to 12-7-0.

 

Daniel “Golden Boy” Zellhuber vs “Groovy” Lando Vannata

Round 1:
Vannata landed a right hook and a leg kick in the opening minute. Zellhuber answered with a hard leg kick of his own. Vannata continued to kick at Zellhuber’s left leg, but Zellhuber hurt him with a right hook. He landed a left hand and a jumping knee, and Vannata fell to the mat. Zellhuber swarmed on him with punches, but Vannata narrowly survived the onslaught and he got to a knee against the cage. Vannata stood and Zellhuber landed a right hook on the way up. 10-9 Zellhuber.

Round 2:
The fighters traded left hooks to the liver to begin round two. Vannata finished a combination with a leg kick and he scored with an overhand right seconds later. Zellhuber landed a leg kick and Vannata lunged forward with an uppercut. Left hooks were exchanged and Zellhuber jabbed. Vannata caught a head kick and tripped Zellhuber, who quickly rose to his feet. Vannata landed a left hook to the body and a leg kick late in the close round. 10-9 Vannata.

Round 3:
Zellhuber punched his way into an early clinch and landed a knee. Time was called to replace Vannata’s mouthpiece, which had fallen out. Action continued and both men landed leg kicks. Vannata caught a body kick and countered with a right hook. Zellhuber backed him up with a straight right hand. Soon after, Zellhuber snapped Vannata’s head to the side with a question mark kick to the temple. Vannata shrugged it off and he threw two body kicks. Vannata landed a head kick in the final seconds. Close round. 10-9 Zellhuber.

Winner: Daniel Zellhuber by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 13-1-0.

 

Denise Gomes vs Bruna “The Special One” Brasil

Round 1:
Gomes scored with a hard leg kick and a right hook to open the fight. She held Brasil against the cage and the fighters traded knees to the body. Brasil reversed the clinch and Gomes landed a knee to the body. The fighters separated and Gomes connected with a right hook. She avoided a wild spinning wheel kick attempt from Brasil and hurt her with two lunging right hooks. Gomes took Brasil down and finished the round on top. 10-9 Gomes.

Round 2:
The second round began with Gomes landing a right hook and clinching. She briefly took Brasil down into side control and Brasil stood against the cage. Gomes caught a kick and dumped Brasil to the mat. She stood over her and kicked at Brasil’s legs. Brasil rose to her feet and landed a solid right hand. Gomes dropped Brasil with a big right hook and followed with more punches on the ground. Brasil covered up and Gomes continued to land punches until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Denise Gomes by TKO (Punches) at 2:42 of round two. She improves to 7-2-0.

 

Gaston “The Dreamkiller” Bolaños vs Aaron Phillips

Round 1:
Bolaños had success during the first half of round one with right hooks each time Phillips tried to step forward. He landed another right hand, but Phillips shrugged off a clinch attempt. Bolaños scored with a combination and Phillips jumped in with a flying knee to the body. Bolaños landed a leg kick late in the round. 10-9 Bolaños.

Round 2:
Phillips reversed a takedown and landed on top in side control. Bolaños got back to half-guard, but Phillips initiated a scramble and he took mount. Bolaños gave up his back and Phillips hunted for a rear-naked choke. Bolaños managed to escape from the body triangle that Phillips held him in. He stood over Phillips and kicked at his legs, Back on the feet, Bolaños fired off a flurry of punches to end the round. 10-9 Phillips.

Round 3:
The fighters battled in a clinch against the cage in the final round. Phillips tried to jump into a triangle choke as he dragged Bolaños to the mat, but Bolaños escaped and he battered Phillips with heavy punches from the top. Phillips eventually got to his feet and Bolaños stunned him with a right hook. He followed up with more punches, but Phillips ducked under a spinning backfist and pulled him down into back control. Phillips secured a body triangle and he attempted an arm-triangle choke and a rear-naked choke. Another close round. 10-9 Bolaños.

Winner: Gaston Bolaños by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 7-3-0.

 

Joselyne “La Pantera” Edwards Laboriel vs Lucie “Bullet” Pudilová

Round 1:
Pudilová used leg kicks early in the fight to set up a takedown attempt. Edwards stuffed one takedown, but Pudilová got her down on her second try and went to work with punches and elbows from top position. Edwards eventually kicked her off, but Pudilová dropped back down into Edwards’s half-guard. She passed straight to mount, but Edwards powered out from bottom position and landed left hands to Pudilová’s as she rose to her feet. Pudilová clinched and Edwards defended against one more takedown attempt. 10-9 Pudilová.

Round 2:
Edwards stuffed a takedown and landed a knee to Pudilová’s body. She missed with a spinning backfist and Pudilová secured a takedown. Pudilová passed to side control and threw short elbows to Edwards’s face. When Pudilová tried to pass to mount, Edwards gave up her back and Pudilová looked to set up a rear-naked choke after landing an elbow. Edwards rolled back over in the final seconds and Pudilová closed out the round with elbows from mount. 10-9 Pudilová.

Round 3:
Pudilová shot in for a takedown and Edwards stayed on her feet. Pudilová held her against the cage and kneed Edwards in the thigh. The fighters separated and Edwards kicked at Pudilová’s body. Edwards stuffed a takedown and Pudilová landed a right hook. After Edwards landed a jab, Pudilová punched her way into a clinch and followed with a knee to the body. Edwards broke free with three short elbow strikes and the round came to a close. 10-9 Edwards.

Two judges unbelievably scored the fight in favour of Edwards for one of the worst decisions in years.
