Jennifer Maia vs Maryna “The Iron Woman” Moroz

Round 1:
Maia landed overhand rights each time Moroz tried to close the distance. She repeatedly scored with jab-cross combos and Moroz was not able to find her range. Maia landed a lead left hook and Moroz caught a kick. Maia freed her leg and backed Moroz up against the cage. She tried to take Moroz down, but Moroz did well to stay on her feet. 10-9 Maia.

Round 2:
Maia remained effective with overhand rights and she used her jab to set them up. A three-punch combo scored for Maia as Moroz stepped forward. Maia landed a one-two and another flurry of punches, but Moroz connected with a solid left hook. She ducked into an overhand right from Maia, who followed with an uppercut. The fighters traded jabs and Maia landed an overhand right. Moroz scored with a left-right combo of hooks and another left hand soon after. Maia landed a front kick to her face before the bell. 10-9 Maia.

Round 3:
Moroz struck first with a lead left hook in the final round. Maia landed a jab-cross combo, but Moroz wobbled her with a counter right hook. Maia recovered quickly and Moroz landed another right hand. Maia connected with a right cross and avoided a spinning backfist attempt from Moroz. She landed a leg kick and Moroz threw a right hand that found its mark. Moroz remained the aggressor, but Maia landed a counter right hook as she closed in. Left hooks landed for both women at the same time and Maia scored with an overhand right. Moroz punched her way into a clinch and Maia turned her around against the cage. She landed punches and a front kick to the body late in the close round. 10-9 Moroz.

Winner: Jennifer Maia by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 20-9-1.

 

Miles “Chapo” Johns vs Vince “Vandetta” Morales

Round 1:
Following a cautious opening minute, Johns landed a stiff jab and Morales answered with an overhand right. Johns landed one more jab and Morales stepped forward with one of his own. Johns shot in for a takedown and Morales stuffed it. He landed two short uppercuts and Johns connected with a right hook. He landed two more hooks late in the otherwise uneventful round. 10-9 Johns due solely to his offence in the final seconds.

Round 2:
The action remained sparse again in round two until Morales prevented Johns from taking down and Johns inadvertently poked him in the eye on the break. Time was called and Morales was able to continue after a moment. Johns landed a right-left combo and Morales shrugged off a clinch attempt. Johns landed a leg kick and Morales countered with a right hook. Johns caught a kick and tried to take Morales down. He slammed him down to the mat just before the bell. Again, 10-9 Johns due to the late-round offence.

Round 3:
Johns dumped Morales to the mat and Morales immediately stood up. He landed a body kick and Morales jabbed. Johns threw a lead left hook and Morales landed a short uppercut. He stuffed a takedown and landed a body kick. Johns could not get Morales down and the fighters traded right hands. Johns got Morales down to a knee and Morales stood at the bell. 10-9 Morales. Very lacklustre fight that could go either way.

Winner: Miles Johns by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 13-2-0.

 

“Pretty” Ricky Turcios vs Kevin “Quicksand” Natividad

Round 1:
Natividad scored an early takedown, but Turcios swept from the bottom and he kept Natividad pinned down for more than a minute. Natividad eventually swept from the bottom and briefly took Turcios’s back. The fighters battled for position on the ground and Natividad looked for a heel hook. Back on the feet, Natividad landed a head kick and a right hook. He held Turcios in a front headlock and then landed a body kick when the fighters separated. Turcios took Natividad down into back control and Natividad stood right up. Close round. 10-9 Turcios.

Round 2:
Turcios countered two body kicks from Natividad with a takedown in round two. Natividad worked back to his feet and secured a takedown of his own. Turcios stood up and Natividad rocked him with a lead left hook. Turcios fell, but he stood up and held Natividad in a clinch. Natividad broke free and landed a right hook. Turcios charged in with a four-punch flurry and he reversed a Natividad takedown. Turcios almost got to mount, but Natividad escaped out to his feet and he attempted a single-leg takedown. Turcios elbowed the side of his head and blatantly grabbed the cage. Natividad finished the round with a combination. 10-9 Natividad.

Round 3:
Natividad landed a step-in elbow and he took Turcios down in the final round. Natividad attempted a top-side guillotine choke and Turcios spun free. He stood up and Natividad dropped him with a knee. Turcios got back to his feet and Natividad landed a front kick to his face and another knee. Natividad briefly took Turcios down, but he could not hold him there. Turcios reversed a second takedown and he took Natividad’s back. Turcios punched the sides of Natividad’s head and worked for a rear-naked choke during the final minute. He closed out the fight with elbows and punches from back control. Very close fight. 10-9 Turcios due to the late-round rally.

Winner: Ricky Turcios by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 12-3-0.

 

Crystal Vanessa “Lil’ Monster” Demopoulos vs Maria “Spider-Girl” de Oliveira Neta

Round 1:
Oliveira landed an early right hand and avoided one from Demopoulos, who had a significant reach disadvantage. Demopoulos landed a leg kick and Oliveira jumped forward with a flying switch knee. Demopoulos landed a one-two and then took Oliveira down into side control. Oliveira got to half-guard as Demopoulos threw elbows and eyed a top-side guillotine choke. Demopoulos passed to mount and dropped two more elbows. She finished the round by unloading with punches and elbows. 10-9 Demopoulos.

Round 2:
Early in the second round, Oliveira landed a right-left combo and a front kick. Demopoulos answered with a quick flurry and then dropped levels for a takedown, but Oliveira stuffed it. She knocked Demopoulos down with a front kick to the body. Demopoulos stood and connected with a lead left hook. She dropped Oliveira with a looping right hand and followed with punches on the ground. Oliveira recovered and Demopoulos worked from the top in her half-guard. Demopoulos passed to mount and she landed left elbows to Oliveira’s face in the final seconds. 10-8 Demopoulos.

Round 3:
Oliveira was much more aggressive in the final round and she landed a right hook and a three-punch flurry as Demopoulos backed up to the cage. Demopoulos responded with a takedown into Oliveira’s half-guard. She landed elbows and nearly passed to mount, but Oliveira powered out from the bottom and got back to her feet. Two right hooks landed for Demopoulos as she circled to her right. Oliveira stunned her with a knee and a combination, but Demopoulos recovered and the back-and-forth round came to an end. 10-9 Oliveira due to damage.

Winner: Crystal Vanessa Demopoulos by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 9-4-0.

 

Brady “Bam Bam” Hiestand vs Fernando “Fernie” Garcia

Round 1:
Garcia dropped Hiestand early in the fight with a right uppercut and he held on to an arm-triangle choke, but Hiestand escaped and wound up on top in side control. He prevented Garcia from standing up and eventually took his back as Garcia got to his knees against the cage. Garcia turned over into Hiestand’s guard and avoided an armbar. The back-and-forth battle continued with Hiestand getting to his feet and taking Garcia down into back control. Hiestand worked relentlessly for a rear-naked choke, but Garcia defended each time. He took top position in Garcia’s guard and Garcia immediately countered with a guillotine choke. Hiestand scrambled free and stood up, and the round ended with an exchange of punches. 10-9 Hiestand despite the early knockdown.

Round 2:
Hiestand landed two head kicks early in round two, but Garcia barely flinched and he continued to move forward. Garcia fought off one takedown, but Hiestand got him down on his second try. He moved to side control and then to North-South position while throwing short elbows to the side of Garcia’s head. Garcia scrambled up and he blocked a head kick. Two right hands landed for Garcia, who looked for a takedown of his own. It was Hiestand who got the takedown, but Garcia punched from the bottom and returned to his feet. The round ended with Hiestand attempting one more takedown. 10-9 Hiestand.

Round 3:
Hiestand got Garcia down against the cage in the final round and quickly took his back. Hiestand worked for rear-naked chokes and secured a body triangle. Hiestand continued to try to secure a rear-naked choke and he kept Garcia on the defensive. This continued all the way to the bell, as Hiestand punched the side of Garcia’s head during the final seconds. 10-9 Hiestand. Could even be a 10-8 due to the ground control.

Winner: Brady Hiestand by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 6-2-0.

 

Natália Cristina da Silva vs Tereza “Ronda” Bledá

Round 1:
Silva opened with a combination and Bledá countered a spinning back kick attempt by clinching. She reversed a throw from Silva and wound up on top in her half-guard. Bledá threw short punches from the top until Silva secured a sweep and took top position. Bledá trapped her in a triangle choke and she switched to a triangle armbar. Silva defended by using her right leg to push on Bledá’s chin, which prevented her from fully extending the arm, but Silva remained stuck in the triangle until the bell. 10-9 Bledá.

Round 2:
Bledá countered early kicks from Silva with a clinch against the cage as she worked for a takedown. Silva stayed on her feet and broke free, and she landed a hard right hand. As Silva threw a leg kick, Bledá shot in for a takedown and Silva sprawled. Bleda got her down to a knee and Silva rose to her feet. A combination scored for Silva, who threw side kicks to the Bledá’s lead leg. She rushed forward with a left hook and stuffed another takedown attempt, and the round ended in a clinch against the fence. 10-9 Silva.

Round 3:
Silva caught a kick from Bledá and backed her up in a clinch. The fighters briefly battled for position against the cage and then separated. Silva landed a hard right-left combo and Bledá backed up. Bleda ducked into a spinning back kick that landed flush. Silva then landed three follow-up punches to the face of a badly dazed Bledá, who fell face-first to the mat, and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Natália Cristina da Silva by TKO (Spinning Back Kick & Punches) at 1:27 of round three. She improves to 14-5-1.
