Leomana “Manaboi” Martinez vs Brandon “Killer B” Davis

Round 1:
Martinez opened the fight with two leg kicks and time was called when he was kicked in the groin. Action resumed and Davis landed a leg kick. Martinez attacked with front kicks to the body and a left hook. Davis landed a right hook and followed with a second one. Time was called again when Davis was poked in the eye. Davis’s eye immediately reddened, but he was able to continue after a moment. Martinez continued to throw front kicks and Davis closed in with a three-punch combo. He spun Martinez around with a leg kick and fought off a clinch attempt with a knee to Martinez’s chest. Martinez landed a nice counter left hook and he blocked a head kick. Back-and-forth round. 10-9 Martinez.

Round 2:
Early in the second round, Martinez landed a hard kick to the liver and Davis shot in for a takedown. The fighters separated and Martinez landed two calf kicks. He began to slow down somewhat and Davis landed two leg kicks of his own. Punches were exchanged and Davis finished a combination with a right hook. Martinez connected with a left cross and then dropped Davis with a spinning backfist. Davis stood and Martinez dropped him again with three hooks just before the bell sounded. 10-9 Martinez.

Round 3:
Davis was the aggressor in the final round and he closed in with jabs and a right hand. Martinez missed with a spinning backfist and Davis landed a body kick. Both men tried unsuccessfully for takedowns and Davis put together a solid combination of punches that bloodied Martinez’s nose. Martinez landed a right hook and he attempted a spinning backfist that was blocked. Davis dumped Martinez to the mat and he struck from the top with hammerfists and elbows. 10-9 Davis.

Winner: Leomana Martinez by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 10-3-0.

 

Jacob “Mamba” Malkoun vs Nick Maximov

Round 1:
Maximov dropped Malkoun with a lead left hook in the opening minute, but Malkoun recovered enough to take him down. Maximov stood and Malkoun scored another takedown soon after. Maximov stood up, but Malkoun took him down again. The fight returned to the feet and Malkoun landed a one-two. He followed with a right hook and Maximov appeared to step awkwardly on his knee or ankle. Malkoun jabbed and tripped Maximov, but Maximov got back to his feet. Malkoun landed more jabs and a right hook, and he kept an injured Maximov on the defensive until the bell. 10-9 Malkoun, despite the knockdown.

Round 2:
Malkoun took Maximov down right away in the second round. He struck from the top and moved to half-guard. Maximov was able to get back to his feet and Malkoun landed a three-punch combo. A hard right hook scored for Malkoun as Maximov circled to his left. Malkoun used his jab to set up straight right hands during the final minute. 10-9 Malkoun.

Round 3:
The final round began with an immediate takedown from Malkoun. Maximov was able to stand up and Malkoun landed a one-two on the break. He followed with another combination and a hard jab. Malkoun took Maximov down once more and he passed to half-guard. Maximov scrambled free and stood up. He landed a looping right hook and Malkoun took him down into half-guard. Maximov got to his knees and Malkoun held him in a front headlock until just before the bell. 10-9 Malkoun.

Winner: Jacob Malkoun by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 7-2-0.

 

Joanderson “Tubarão” Brito vs Lucas “The Lion” Alexander

Round 1:
Alexander missed with a head kick attempt and Brito took advantage by hopping on his back. He slammed Alexander down twice and jumped into a standing body triangle as Alexander stood up. Brito worked for a rear-naked choke until he got his forearm under Alexander’s chin. Brito pulled Alexander down to the mat and Alexander immediately tapped out.

Winner: Joanderson Brito by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 2:02 of round one. He improves to 14-3-1.

 

Piera “La Fiera” Rodriguez vs Sam “Sampage” Hughes

Round 1:
Hughes struck first with an overhand right and Rodriguez answered with a short left hook. Hughes moved forward and landed a right-left combo. She followed up with another one-two and then stuffed a Rodriguez takedown attempt. Rodriguez briefly got Hughes down with 90 seconds to go, but Hughes kicked her off and scrambled up to her feet. She jabbed and Rodriguez landed a lead left hook. Hughes landed a right hook in close and a front kick to the body. Close round. 10-9 Hughes.

Round 2:
Rodriguez caught a kick and took Hughes down early in round two, and she landed right hands to the side of Hughes’s face as Hughes stood against the cage. A cut was opened on the bridge of Hughes’s nose, but she resumed her march forward and landed a leg kick. Rodriguez tripped Hughes, but she could not keep her down. Rodriguez landed an elbow in the clinch and the fighters separated. Rodriguez secured another takedown and tried to hop on Hughes’s back as Hughes stood up. Hughes hook her off and Rodriguez landed two knees to her chest. Hughes jabbed and Rodriguez landed a hard knee to the body. 10-9 Rodriguez.

Round 3:
Rodriguez stuffed a takedown and punished Hughes with knees to the body early in the final round. Hughes landed a right hook and initiated a clinch. Rodriguez scored a takedown, but Hughes immediately stood back up. Punches were exchanged on the feet and Rodriguez landed a counter uppercut. Hughes continued to press the action and she landed a knee during a brief clinch. Rodriguez threw two knees and Hughes landed overhand rights. She closed in with a final flurry of punches and the fight ended in a clinch. Another close round. 10-9 Hughes by a slim margin. Decision could go either way.

Winner: Piera Rodriguez by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 9-0-0.

 

Tatsuro Taira vs C.J. Vergara

Round 1:
Vergara pressed forward aggressively in the opening seconds and Taira responded with a takedown into side control. He moved to North-South position, then back to side control. Taira briefly passed to mount, but Vergara swept from the bottom and stood up. Taira followed and he promptly took Vergara down into mount. Vergara got a leg in and worked back to half-guard, but Taira locked on a shoulder choke from the top and he used it to pass to side control once more. Seconds later, Vergara attacked with an arm-triangle choke from the bottom that he used to sweep into top position. Taira escaped to his feet and he finished the round with two knees and a left hook. 10-9 Taira.

Round 2:
Vergara fought off takedown attempts from Taira during the opening minute, but Taira eventually got him down into back control. He secured a body triangle and worked for a rear-naked choke as Vergara defended by breaking Taira’s grip. This continued until Taira transitioned into an armbar from back control. Vergara tried to stand up to pull his arm free, but Taira wrenched back on the elbow and Vergara tapped out.

Winner: Tatsuro Taira by Submission (Armbar) at 4:19 of round two. He improves to 12-0-0.

 

Pete “Dead Game” Rodriguez vs Mike “The Truth” Jackson

Round 1:
Rodriguez landed an early leg kick and a body kick, then dropped Jackson with a right hook to the body. He followed with punches on the ground, but Jackson recovered quickly and stood up. Rodriguez landed an elbow and he pressed forward with punches that backed Jackson up to the cage. Rodriguez landed a vicious knee as Jackson ducked his head, and Jackson was instantly rendered unconscious.

Winner: Pete Rodriguez by KO (Knee) at 1:33 of round one. He improves to 5-1-0.
