Angela “Overkill” Hill vs “Loopy” Lupita Godinez

Round 1:
Punches were exchanged right away and Godinez landed an overhand right that stunned Hill. She recovered and the fighters briefly clinched. Hill landed a one-two and Godinez answered with a combination. She followed that up with an overhand right and Hill landed a head kick. Godinez barely flinched and more punches were exchanged. Hill got the better of it and Godinez circled to her right. Hill countered a combination from Godinez with one of her own, then jumped in with a knee to the body. The fighters clinched and Godinez landed a right hook on the break. Hill went high with a head kick, then scored with a flying switch knee. Good first round. 10-9 Godinez, just barely.

Round 2:
After an exchange of right hooks, Godinez took Hill down and Hill immediately countered with a tight guillotine choke. Godinez managed to escape and the fight returned to the feet. Hill landed a left hook and an uppercut, but she was unsuccessful with a takedown attempt. Hill landed a right hook and followed with a combination. Both women landed jabs and Hill remained the aggressor as Godinez circled on the outside. Godinez landed a one-two and Hill flurried to the body. She clinched with Godinez late in the round and landed a knee to the body, then took Godinez down into back control. Hill landed hammerfists to the side of Godinez’s head until time expired. 10-9 Hill.

Round 3:
Hill landed a right hook to Godinez’s body in the final round and she cracked her with two uppercuts. Godinez jabbed from a distance and Hill answered with stiff jabs of her own. Godinez bled heavily from her nose and Hill landed a knee to the body. Godinez took her down very briefly and hunted for a guillotine choke on the way up. Hill broke free and she landed a jab and an overhand right. Godinez stuffed a takedown and Hill landed a right hand as the fighters separated. Godinez blocked a head kick and then a second one soon after, but Hill landed a step-in knee. Big punches were exchanged in the final 30 seconds and Hill landed an overhand right. She stunned Godinez with a lead left hook just before the final bell. 10-9 Hill.

Winner: Angela Hill by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 14-12-0.

 

Martin “Badys” Buday vs Ɓukasz Brzeski

Round 1:
Buday struck first with an overhand right and punches were exchanged in close. Buday landed a five-punch flurry and Brzeski threw lead left hooks in response. Brzeski eventually landed an overhand right that stunned Buday. Brzeski did not follow up and Brzeski recovered. Brzeski jabbed and both men landed left hooks. Brzeski mixed in leg kicks and he bloodied Buday’s nose with a combination. Brzeski caught a leg kick and countered with a right hook. A right hook and a leg kick landed for Buday late in the competitive round. 10-9 Brzeski.

Round 2:
Brzeski opened round two with a jab and Buday immediately answered with a hard leg kick. Brzeski landed two leg kicks and an overhand right. Brzeski landed jab-hook combos and then backed Buday up momentarily with a flurry to the body and head. Buday lunged forward with a lead left hand and then followed up with a combination of his own. Leg kicks were exchanged and Buday landed a right hook. The fighters traded more right hands and Buday charged forward with his hands down. Brzeski landed a leg kick and Buday finished the round with a right hook. Another close round. 10-9 Brzeski by a slim margin.

Round 3:
Buday landed a leg kick early in the final round and Brzeski stepped forward with a four-punch flurry. A one-two scored for Buday and Brzeski punched to the head and body. Buday opened a cut below Brzeski’s right eye with a lead left hook. Another leg kick scored for Buday and Brzeski repeatedly tried to land lunging left hooks, to no avail. A hard jab from Buday backed Brzeski up late in the fight and Buday landed an overhand right before the bell. 10-9 Buday.

Winner: Martin Buday by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 11-1-0.

 

Nina “The Strina” Nunes vs Cynthia Calvillo

Round 1:
The fighters circled and traded jabs during the opening minute, and Nunes landed a strong leg kick. Calvillo caught a leg kick and tripped Nunes briefly, but she quickly got back to her feet. Nunes landed two more leg kicks and a front kick to Calvillo’s face. Calvillo was unable to take Nunes down and Nunes continued to attack her lead leg with kicks. Nunes attempted a spinning back kick to the body that missed and Calvillo landed a left hook late in the round. 10-9 Nunes.

Round 2:
Nunes landed a lead left hook and a leg kick early in round two. Calvillo responded with a lead left hook, but she struggled to find her range. Nunes jabbed and she countered a left hand from Calvillo with an overhand right. Calvillo secured a takedown and Nunes threw up her legs in search of an armbar. She kicked Calvillo off, but Calvillo re-entered Nunes’s guard again. When Calvillo stood up, Nunes landed two upkicks to her face and scrambled up to her feet. Calvillo blocked a head kick before the bell. 10-9 Nunes despite the takedown.

Round 3:
The final round began with Nunes throwing a side kick to Calvillo’s body. Punches were exchanged and Nunes landed a leg kick. Calvillo was unsuccessful with a takedown attempt and Nunes continued to chop away at her lower left leg with kicks. Calvillo finally got Nunes down for a split second, but Nunes stood and Calvillo landed a knee to the body on the break. Nunes jabbed and landed another leg kick. She hurt Calvillo with a calf kick and easily avoided a takedown attempt. Nunes landed a right hook and a head kick in the final minute, then followed with another right hand. Calvillo could not take her down and the fight ended with an exchange of punches. 10-9 Nunes.

Winner: Nina Nunes by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. She improves to 11-7-0.

 

Gabriel “Moggly” Benitez vs Charlie “The American Bad Boy” Ontiveros

Round 1:
Benitez initiated an early clinch against the cage, but Ontiveros punched his way free. He landed a lead right hook and a body kick, then grazed Benitez’s head with an axe kick. Benitez landed a leg kick and an overhand left, then blocked a spinning wheel kick from Ontiveros. Benitez clinched and he cut Ontiveros with an elbow below his left eye. Time was called when Ontiveros was kneed in the groin. Action resumed after a minute and Benitez landed a big left hook. He slammed Ontiveros down to the mat and passed to mount. Benitez postured up with elbows and punches, and Ontiveros covered up. Referee Mike Beltran intervened to stop the fight.

Winner: Gabriel Benitez by TKO (Elbows & Punches) at 3:35 of round one. He improves to 23-10-0.

 

Tyson Nam vs Ode “The Jamaican Sensation” Osbourne

Round 1:
Osbourne attacked Nam’s liver with a series of kicks in the early stages of the fight. He followed with a right hook and Namm jabbed. Osbourne landed another body kick and the fighters traded right hooks. Osbourne jumped into the air with a flying knee attempt and Nam melted him with a right hook. A barely-conscious Osbourne rolled backward on the ground and Nam finished him off with three more punches on the ground.

Winner: Tyson Nam by KO (Punches) at 2:59 of round one. He improves to 21-12-1.

 

Josh “The Renegade” Quinlan vs Jason “The Vanilla Gorilla” Witt

Round 1:
After a cautious opening minute on the feet, Witt took Quinlan down. Quinlan worked back to his feet and he landed a counter left hook as Witt stepped forward. Witt collapsed unconscious to the mat and the brief fight was stopped.

Winner: Josh Quinlan by KO (Punch) at 2:09 of round one. He improves to 6-0-0, 1 NC.

 

Da’Mon “Da Monster” Blackshear vs Youssef “The Moroccan Devil” Zalal

Round 1:
Blackshear kicked at Zalal’s legs early in the fight and Zalal took him down. Blackshear threw up his legs in search of a triangle choke. Zalal stacked him against the cage and briefly passed to side control. He landed two elbows from the top and Blackshear spun into a heel hook attempt. He switched his grip to an inverted heel hook and then took Zalal’s back. Blackshear landed short right hands and hunted for a rear-naked choke until the bell. Close round. 10-9 Blackshear.

Round 2:
In the second round, Blackshear closed the distance and took Zalal down against the fence. Zalal tried to stand and gave up his back, which allowed Blackshear to lock on a rear-naked choke. Zalal quickly spun free and he wound up taking Blackshear’s back. Zalal worked for a neck crank and Blackshear defended. He turned over into Zalal’s guard and then attempted a bulldog choke as the fighters rose to their feet. Blackshear hopped on Zalal’s back and secured a standing body triangle while working for a rear-naked choke. He tightened the choke late in the round, but Zalal made it to the bell. 10-9 Blackshear.

Round 3:
Zalal jabbed in round three and Blackshear landed two leg kicks. He blocked a head kick from Zalal, who landed another jab. A jab-cross combo scored for Zalal as Blackshear noticeably slowed down. Zalal fought off a takedown and he landed a knee and a combination. Blackshear could not get Zalal down and Zalal tagged him with more jabs and a right hook. He began to attack Blackshear’s body with lead left hooks and then dropped him with a liver kick. Blackshear tried to recover on the ground as Zalal battered him with punches and elbows. Blackshear barely managed to hold on until the end of the fight. 10-8 Zalal.

Result: Majority Draw (29-28 [Blackshear], 28-28, 28-28) after three rounds. Blackshear moves to 12-4-1, while Zalal is now 10-5-1.
