Joshua “Kuya” Culibao vs Seung Woo “Sting” Choi

Round 1:
Culibao circled on the outside until Choi threw a head kick and a right cross. Culibao connected with a straight left, but Choi used his jab to set up another right hand. Culibao went high with a head kick that was partially blocked, and that set off an exchange of power punches. Culibao stunned Choi with a left hook and then really rocked him with a one-two. Choi got wild with his punches and Culibao dropped him to a knee with three big hooks. Choi got to his feet and Culibao dropped him again. Culibao landed hammerfists on the ground, but Choi survived and made it back to his feet. He hurt Culibao with a series of punches late in the round, but Culibao recovered quickly and the spirited round came to a close. 10-9 Culibao.

Round 2:
As Choi stepped forward in the second round, Culibao tagged him with two lead left hooks. He followed up with a jab and Choi landed a right cross. Culibao dropped Choi with a looping right hook and Choi did a backward somersault. He stood back up and Culibao landed another right hook. Culibao ducked under two head kick attempts from Choi and he bloodied Choi’s nose with a right cross. Choi scored with a nice one-two and that knocked Culibao off-balance momentarily. 10-9 Culibao.

Round 3:
Choi opened round three with a body kick and he went high with a head kick that was partially blocked. Culibao countered a leg kick from Choi with a straight left hand, but Choi landed a solid right cross in response. He clinched and Culibao reversed it against the cage. Choi turned Culibao back around and threw knees to his thighs. He tripped Culibao to the mat and took his back. Choi secured a body triangle and he attempted a rear-naked choke. Culibao broke Choi’s grip and Choi landed punches and elbows before Culibao got back to his feet at the bell. 10-9 Choi.

Winner: Joshua Culibao by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 10-1-1.

 

Maheshate Hayisaer vs Steve “Mean Machine” Garcia

Round 1:
Garcia landed an early left cross and Hayisaer answered with a right hook and a knee. Garcia backed him up with a three-punch combo, but Hayisaer dropped Garcia with a counter right hook. Garcia got back to his feet and charged forward at Hayisaer, but Hayisaer landed another counter right hook and this one sent Garcia crashing face-first to the mat, ending the fight.

Winner: Maheshate Hayisaer by KO (Punch) at 1:14 of round one. He improves to 9-1-0.

 

Brendan “All In” Allen vs Jacob “Mamba” Malkoun

Round 1:
Allen struck first with a lead left hook and Malkoun replied with a right hand. Allen grazed with a right-left combo and he followed with a right hook after an exchange of jabs. Malkoun got Allen down to a knee and he took his back as Allen stood up. Malkoun pulled Allen back down to the mat, but Allen worked back to his feet and he whipped Malkoun down to the ground. Allen moved straight to mount, but Malkoun was able to scramble from the bottom and he got to his knees. Allen tried to pull guard with a guillotine choke, but he lost the choke and Malkoun held him down against the base of the cage. Allen stood just before the bell. Back-and-forth round. 10-9 Allen.

Round 2:
Round two began with an exchange of jabs, and Malkoun’s had more force behind them. He shot in for a single-leg takedown and got Allen down against the cage. Allen stood up, only to be taken right back down. Malkoun struck with right hands and elbows from the top, which forced Allen to try to get back to his feet. Malkoun briefly took his back, but Allen turned over into Malkouns guard and then passed to side control. He stayed there until the bell. 10-9 Malkoun.

Round 3:
Allen took Malkoun down to begin the final round. Malkoun quickly returned to his feet and he tripped Allen into back control. Allen stood with Malkoun clinched around his waist. He dragged Allen down and tried to sink in both hooks, but Allen reversed into top position. A back-and-forth scramble followed, with Allen ending up on top in Malkoun’s half-guard. Malkoun regained full guard, but Allen spent the rest of the round landing elbows. Close fight. 10-9 Allen.

Winner: Brendan Allen by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 19-5-0.

 

Kyung Ho “Mr. Perfect” Kang vs Danaa “Storm” Batgerel

Round 1:
Kang chopped away at Batgerel’s lead leg with kicks in the opening 90 seconds. Batgerel jabbed and Kang continued to land calf kicks. Batgerel landed a combination and an inside-leg kick. He lunged forward with an uppercut that landed on Kang’s jaw. Two more leg kicks and a right hook scored for Batgerel, who backed Kang up to the cage. Kang missed with a spinning back elbow and Batgerel landed a knee and a right hook before the bell. Close round. 10-9 Batgerel due to the late-round damage.

Round 2:
Early in round two, Kang landed a hard jab and a knee, and he attacked Batgerel’s left leg with more calf kicks. The fighters exchanged jabs and Batgerel backed Kang up with a hard one-two to the jaw. Kang reset and jabbed, then shot in for a takedown. Batgerel landed an illegal knee when Kang was down, but referee Thomas Fan did not intervene and the fight continued. Kang partially landed with a spinning backfist and both men landed jabs in the final seconds. 10-9 Kang.

Round 3:
Kang cracked Batgerel with an overhand right in the opening minute of the final round. Batgerel jabbed and he landed a leg kick. His face swelled up as Kang repeatedly tagged him with jabs, however, and Kang finished a combination with a calf kick. Batgerel came up short with rushing punches and Kang landed a counter right hook. Batgerel’s eyes continued to swell shut and Kang kept his jab in Batgerel’s face. Both men landed right hooks at the same time and Kang snapped Batgerel’s head back with another jab. He fought off a Batgerel takedown attempt and countered with a right hook. 10-9 Kang.

Winner: Kyung Ho Kang by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 18-9-0, 1 NC.

 

Silvana “La Malvada” Gómez Juárez vs Na “Dragon Girl” Liang

Round 1:
Liang threw two looping right hands early in the fight and Gómez Juárez fought off a takedown attempt. She rocked Liang with a right hook and then floored her with a left to end the brief fight.

Winner: Silvana Gómez Juárez by KO (Punches) at 1:22 of round one. She improves to 11-4-0.

 

Joselyne “La Pantera” Edwards Laboriel vs Ramona Pascual

Round 1:
Pascual landed an early leg kick and a right hook, and Edwards charged at her with a flurry of punches. She followed with another combination and Pascual circled away against the cage. Edwards stuffed a takedown and landed a left-right combo on the break. She kicked at Pascual’s lead leg and body with side kicks. Edwards landed kick after kick until Pascual clinched with her against the cage. She hurt Edwards with a body kick and a knee to the liver, but Edwards clinched. Pascual pushed her away and landed a head kick late in the round. 10-9 Pascual due to the late rally.

Round 2:
In the second round, Pascual caught a kick and tied Edwards up in a clinch. Edwards reversed position and backed away after landing two hooks on the break. Pascual opened a cut on the bridge of Edwards’s nose with a left hook. Edwards threw two front kicks to the body in response. She kicked at Pascual’s lead leg while keeping her distance, and this continued throughout the final two minutes. Edwards countered a left hand from Pascual with a right hook, but Pascual took her down shortly before the bell. 10-9 Edwards despite the takedown.

Round 3:
Edwards defended against a takedown attempt from Pascual in the final round. The fighters separated and Edwards threw front kicks until Pascual clinched in search of a takedown. Edwards punished her with uppercuts and a knee in close, then landed a strong front kick to Pascual’s body. Edwards fired off a combination and finished with a body kick. Pascual blocked a head kick and tied Edwards up in a clinch. Edwards stayed on her feet and circled away. Late in the round, Edwards landed a spinning backfist and another front kick to the body. Pascual landed a left hook before the end of the fight. 10-9 Edwards.
