Jamie “The Nightwolf” Pickett vs Joseph Holmes

Round 1:
After a cautious opening minute, Holmes grazed with a head kick and followed up with a right cross. Pickett punched his way into a clinch and Holmes reversed it against the cage. Pickett pushed him away and he initiated another clinch soon after. Pickett landed a short knee and Holmes broke free. He easily shrugged off a Pickett clinch attempt and Pickett landed a jab. Holmes replied with two leg kicks and Pickett lunged forward with two looping hooks. He took Holmes down, but Holmes quickly rose to his feet. Close round. 10-9 Pickett.

Round 2:
Pickett opened round two with a front kick to the body and two punches. Holmes held him against the cage and Pickett swept out his leg. Holmes, now bleeding from below his left eye, stood up and Pickett chased after him. Holmes avoided a clinch and landed a counter left hook. Pickett stepped in with a four-punch combo and Holmes tried to take him down. Pickett eventually pushed him away and both men landed left hooks. Holmes clinched again and landed a knee to the body. Pickett countered with a punching flurry late in the round. 10-9 Pickett.

Round 3:
Pickett was the aggressor early in the final round as he landed two hooks and partially scored with a head kick. Holmes had slowed way down and Pickett cracked him with a nice left hook. Holmes finally landed a body kick and Pickett tried for a standing guillotine choke. He backed Holmes up against the cage, but Holmes broke free with a knee to the body and then scored with a hard jab that backed Pickett up. In the final minute, Pickett clinched and Holmes reversed it. Pickett circled away and time expired. Another close round. 10-9 Pickett.

Winner: Jamie Pickett by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 13-6-0.

 

Court “The Crusher” McGee vs Ramiz Brahimaj

Round 1:
McGee jabbed and landed a leg kick as Brahimaj stepped forward with a one-two. McGee landed a lead left hook and then held Brahimaj in a clinch against the cage. He took Brahimaj down, but Brahimaj was able to get back to his feet and both men landed short punches in a clinch. McGee took Brahimaj down again and transitioned right to back control. Again, Brahimaj stood up. He landed one knee and broke from McGee’s grasp. McGee landed a jab-cross combo and then a right hook to Brahimaj’s temple. He dropped Brahimaj with an overhand right just before the bell. 10-8 McGee due to the knockdown and round dominance.

Round 2:
McGee knocked Brahimaj off-balance with a calf kick in the second round and Brahimaj clinched after returning to his feet. He took McGee’s back, but it was McGee who secured a takedown soon after and Brahimaj had to battle his way back up. The fighters battled against the cage and McGee tripped Brahimaj again. Brahimaj stood up and McGee landed a right cross on the break. McGee scored one more takedown late in the round as Brahimaj bled from a cut beside his left eye. 10-9 McGee.

Round 3:
Brahimaj tried to counter a McGee takedown with a guillotine choke in round three, but McGee pulled his head free and kept Brahimaj pinned down against the base of the cage. Brahimaj tried to stand up at the midway point in the round and McGee took his back. He first attempted a rear-naked choke and then rolled over into mount. McGee held Brahimaj in an arm-triangle choke from mount until Brahimaj rolled to his left and gave up his back again. McGee threw a handful of hammerfists to Brahimaj’s face before the end of the fight. 10-9 McGee, if not another 10-8.

Winner: Court McGee by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 21-10-0.

 

Brian “Boom” Kelleher vs Kevin “Crash” Croom

Round 1:
The much larger Croom landed an early left hook and then backed Kelleher up to the cage with a flurry of punches. Kelleher fought off a takedown attempt and circled away. Croom landed a leg kick, but Kelleher floored him with an overhand right. Croom returned to his feet and time was called when Kelleher was kicked in the groin. The fight resumed and Croom landed two leg kicks and a lunging left hook. He mixed in kicks and Kelleher responded with a right hook. Croom landed two more leg kicks and then a three-punch flurry. Kelleher began to look for takedown opportunities and Croom easily stuffed them. He spun Kelleher around with a leg kick and then backed him up with a combination. Croom flurried with punches and finished with a hard body kick. Kelleher cracked him with a right hook and took Croom down, but Croom attacked with elbows from the bottom. 10-9 Croom.

Round 2:
Croom landed a combination and finished with a body kick in round two. He continued to throw punches as Kelleher covered up and circled to his right. More kicks landed for Croom and Kelleher finally connected with a counter left hook. Croom clinched and held Kelleher against the fence. Kelleher circled out and he landed two left hooks to the liver. Croom landed an elbow and a knee, and Kelleher took him down. The elbow opened a bad cut near Kelleher’s right eye and he was urgent on the ground with submission attempts including a guillotine choke. Croom escaped and looked to set up an armbar, but Kelleher easily escaped and he landed a hard elbow from the top. Close round. 10-9 Kelleher by a slim margin.

Round 3:
Kelleher took Croom down early in the final round and he quickly transitioned to his back. Croom stood up and Kelleher dumped him to the mat again. As Croom rose to his feet, Kelleher briefly looked for a guillotine choke before tripping him once more. He transitioned from guillotines to a Brabo choke and then to another guillotine. Croom gave up his back and Kelleher tried to set up a rear-naked choke. He finished the round with hard punches to the side of Croom’s head. 10-8 Kelleher.

Winner: Brian Kelleher by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 24-12-0.

 

“Downtown” T.J. Brown vs Charles “Boston Strong” Rosa

Round 1:
Brown landed an early overhand right and Rosa kicked at his lead leg. Another right hand scored for Brown and Rosa continued to throw leg kicks. He followed with a head kick that Brown partially blocked. Rosa dropped Brown to a knee with a leg kick, but Brown stood up and took him down. As the fighters scrambled up to their feet, Rosa worked for a guillotine choke, but Brown landed an elbow on the break. He followed up with a one-two and switched stances to protect his left leg. Rosa landed an overhand right and then two more leg kicks when Brown switched back to orthodox. Brown connected with a right-left combo and then took Rosa down against the cage. Rosa tried again for a guillotine choke and Brown escaped by passing to side control. He attempted an arm-triangle choke and finished the round with elbows. 10-9 Brown due to the strong finish.

Round 2:
After a spinning backfist landed for Brown, the fighters exchanged hard right hands in the second round. Brown countered a leg kick with a takedown into side control. Rosa tried to stand and Brown whipped him back down to the mat. Rosa was able to sweep into top position and he almost trapped Brown in an inverted triangle choke during a scramble. Brown wound up on top in side control, however, and he attempted another arm-triangle choke. Rosa defended well and got back to full guard. He threw up his legs for an armbar and Brown pulled his arm out. He retook top position and and landed short forearm strikes to Rosa’s face. Rosa gave up his back and Brown locked on an arm-triangle choke as Rosa rolled to his side. Rosa escaped and Brown closed out the round with punches from the top. 10-9 Brown.

Round 3:
Brown opened the final round with a hard leg kick and an overhand right, then slammed Rosa down. He transitioned from an arm-triangle choke attempt to back control as Rosa tried to get back to his feet. Brown lost the position and Rosa wound up on top in side control. Brown exploded out from the bottom and stood up, then immediately took Rosa down. He mounted Rosa and then took his back, but Rosa stood up and shook Brown off of his back. Rosa tripped Brown and looked to set up a Brabo choke. Brown escaped and landed a combination after standing up, but he slipped and fell to the mat. That allowed Rosa to finish the round on top with elbows. Very close, back-and-forth round. 10-9 Brown.

Winner: T.J. Brown by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 16-8-0.
