UFC On FOX 14: "Gustafsson vs Johnson" Play-By-Play & ResultsThe Ultimate Fighting Championship came to Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden tonight for UFC on FOX 14: “Gustafsson vs Johnson.” The event was headlined by a light heavyweight contender’s bout between hometown star Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson and Anthony “Rumble” Johnson.

Also on the card tonight, former Strikeforce champ Dan “Hendo” Henderson battle Gegard “The Dreamcatcher” Mousasi in the middleweight co-main event. Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis took on Ryan “Darth” Bader in a featured 205-pound bout. MMARising.com has live play-by-play for the main card.

 

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson vs Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson

Round 1:
Big punches were exchanged right away and Gustafsson blocked a head kick. Both men landed leg kicks and Gustafsson looked to establish his jab. Time was called after Johnson was poked in the eye. Action resumed and Johnson dropped Gustafsson with a right hook. Gustafsson recovered and landed a right hand of his own. Johnson kept the pressure on with head kicks and powerful hooks. He knocked Gustafsson down again and Gustafsson turtled on his knees. Johnson unloaded with punches and hammerfists until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Anthony Johnson by TKO (Punches) at 2:15 of round one. He improves to 19-4-0.

 

Gegard “The Dreamcatcher” Mousasi vs Dan “Hendo” Henderson

Round 1:
Mousasi opened the action with leg kicks and jabs. He ducked under Henderson’s right hands and landed a counter right to the temple that dropped Henderson backwards against the cage. Mousasi landed one more left hand as Handerson grabbed his legs and referee Leon Roberts stopped the fight.

Winner: Gegard Mousasi by TKO (Punches) at 1:10 of round one. He improves to 36-5-2.

 

Ryan “Darth” Bader vs Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis

Round 1:
Bader landed a pair of nice left hooks in the opening 80 seconds and he stuffed a Davis takedown attempt. Davis landed an overhnd right and Bader kicked to the body. Davis responded with a series of body kicks of his own and the fighters traded more right hands. Bader stuffed another takedown and Bader cracked him with a counter right. 10-9 Bader.

Round 2:
Bader fought off a takedown attempt and clinched with Davis against the cage in round two. He broke away with a slashing elbow to Davis’s eye. Davis answered with an overhand right and a head kick. He targeted Bader’s midsection with more kicks and Bader punched from a distance. Neither man could secured a takedown until Davis finally dragged Bader down from back control. Bader battled back to his feet and Davis landed knees and punches in the clinch. 10-9 Davis.

Round 3:
Left hooks were exchanged in the final round and Bader missed with a big right hand. Davis connected with a right hook and dropped levels for a takedown, but Bader stuffed it and threw knees to the shoulders. Davis stood and Bader avoided another takedown. Davis’s right eye swelled shut, but he managed to land a nice kick to the liver. He followed with a kick-punch combo and chopped away at Bader’s lead leg. Davis mixed things up with more kicks and a right hook, but Bader stuffed a takedown and threw him down. He attempted a kimura at the bell. Close round. 10-9 Davis.

Winner: Ryan Bader by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 19-4-0.

 

Sam Sicilia vs Akira Corassani

Round 1:
Sicilia opened the fight with kicks to Corassani’s lead leg and body, which set off an exchange of power punches against the cage. Corassani landed leg kicks of his own and both men scored with left hooks. A massive right hand dropped an unconscious Corassani to the mat and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Sam Sicilia by KO (Punch) at 3:26 of round one. He improves to 14-5-0.

– Albert “Einstein” Tumenov defeated Nicholas “Nico” Musoke by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 14-2-0 with the win.

– Kenny Robertson defeated Sultan Aliev by KO (Punches) at 2:42 of round one. He improves to 15-3-0 with the win.

– Makwan “Mr. Finland” Amirkhani defeated Andy “The Little Axe” Ogle by TKO (Flying Knee & Punches) at 0:08 of round one. He improves to 11-2-0 with the win.

– Nikita “Al Capone” Krylov defeated Stanislav “Stucky” Nedkov by Submission (Guillotine Choke) at 1:24 of round one. He improves to 18-4-0 with the win.

– Mairbek “Beckan” Taisumov defeated Anthony Christodoulou by KO (Punches) at 0:38 of round two. He improves to 23-5-0 with the win.
