Stephanie Eggink Submits Angela Magana, Wins Title At XFC 25Stephanie “Snowflake” Eggink once again showcased her slick submission skills tonight in the XFC 25: “Boiling Point” main event in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The talented rising star submitted experienced veteran Angela Magana to become the inaugural XFC Women’s Strawweight Champion.

Eggink and Magana traded jabs and leg kicks throughout an uneventful first round and Magana picked up the pace in round two. She threw Eggink to the ground and appeared to be in control of the action until Eggink used a quick transition to lock on a fight-ending triangle choke from the bottom.

Eggink (4-1-0) maintained a disciplined strategy in the opening round and landed a series of jabs as Magana (11-6-0) kicked at her lead leg. Both fighters came up short with punching combinations and Magana continued to score with leg kicks. She countered a left hook from Eggink with a hard one-two combination. Eggink stayed calm and landed more jabs before the end of the close round.

After an exchange of punches in round two, Magana clinched against the cage and whipped Eggink to the ground. As Eggink stood, Magana took her back and threw her down to the mat a second time. Eggink kept Magana trapped in her guard, but Magana managed to land short strikes from the top as she pinned Eggink against the base of the cage.

Just shy of the three-minute mark, Eggink threw her legs up for an armbar. She quickly switched to a triangle choke and flurried with punches from her back. Magana tried to posture up to escape, but Eggink tightened the choke and Magana was forced to submit at the 3:10 mark of the second round.

Leading up to the bout, Magana had strong words for Eggink and stated that the title was already hers. Eggink spoiled the hometown fighter’s plans with tonight’s victory and she has now won three straight fights under the XFC banner.

Winner: Stephanie Eggink by Submission (Triangle Choke) at 3:10 of round two. She improves to 4-1-0 and becomes the first XFC Women’s Strawweight Champion.
