Hometown star Jessica “Evil” Eye earned a dominant Unanimous Decision win over New Mexico’s Angela Magana tonight in the main event of NAAFS: “Rock N Rumble 6” in Cleveland, Ohio. Eye’s crisp counterstriking and solid takedown defence propelled her to the clear-cut victory after three rounds.

From the outset, Eye kept Magana at bay with jabs and quick combinations that made it difficult for Magana to close the distance. Magana tried to take the fight to the ground on numerous occasions throughout, but Eye thwarted each attempt and showcased her rapidly-improving wrestling skills.

Eye (8-1-0) set the tone early on with jabs and combinations, but Magana (11-5-0) managed to sneak in counter right hooks and clinched in search of takedowns. When Magana was able to get Eye to the ground, it was Eye who wound up on top and she punished Magana with punches before allowing her to stand. Magana continued to press forward in search of a takedown, but Eye dropped her with a counter hook and reversed another takedown late in the round.

It was more of the same in rounds two and three. Magana’s takedown attempts became slower and more telegraphed and Eye had no trouble staying on her feet. She picked Magana apart with punches and, save for an occasional right hook or an uppercut, Magana struggled to land anything in return. In the dying seconds of round three, Magana tried to pull guard and Eye defended with elbows from the top in side control.

All three judges scored the bout 30-27 for Eye, who has now won five straight fights. She hopes to make a return to Bellator Fighting Championships in early 2013.

Winner: Jessica Eye by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. She improves to 8-1-0.
