Erika Kamimura Defeats Seo Hee Ham In Rise 88 Rematch2011 Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup Champion Erika Kamimura earned her second victory over South Korean rival Seo Hee Ham on Saturday night at Rise 88 in Tokyo, Japan. Kamimura defeated Ham by Unanimous Decision after three rounds in a high-paced matchup under kickboxing rules.

Kamimura and Ham initially faced off in a shoot boxing match as part of the 2011 Girls S-Cup in August. Ham dominated early on, but Kamimura rallied late for a razor-thin victory. The rematch was more decisive and Kamimura now moves on to a third bout with Rise Queen Champion Rena Kubota.

Kamimura landed lead left hooks and right straights in the opening round while the southpaw Ham answered back with lefts of her own. Kamimura continued to mix up her strikes and landed kicks to the body at the end of her combinations. Ham stuck to left hooks and occasional kicks to Kamimura’s lead leg and body. Kamimura closed out the round with body kicks, a left hook and a Superman Punch.

Rounds two and three were more of the same. Kamimura remained a step ahead of her opponent and scored with punches to the face and body. Ham managed to land some nice combinations of her own, but Kamimura stifled much of her offence with more kicks to the ribs and front kicks to the chest. In the final minute, Kamimura landed a left hook and another Superman Punch, then kicked away at Ham’s midsection until the bell.

All three judges scored the bout for Kamimura, who will look to avenge her November loss to Kubota at Rise 85 when the fighters face off again later this year for Kubota’s Rise Queen Championship. A date for the Kamimura-Kubota title trilogy fight has not yet been determined.

Winner: Erika Kamimura by Unanimous Decision (30-28, 29-27, 29-27) after three rounds. She improves her combined kickboxing and shoot boxing record to 25-2-0 and becomes the number one contender for the Rise Queen Championship.
