Sheila Gaff Knocks Out Jennifer Maia At CWFC: Fight Night 4Rising star Sheila “The German Tank” Gaff earned another lightning-fast knockout victory tonight at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship: Fight Night 4 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Gaff blitzed Brazilian prospect Jennifer Maia in just ten seconds to move to 3-0 at 125 pounds.

Tonight’s featured women’s matchup was one of two semi-final bouts in the inaugural Cage Warriors 125-pound women’s tournament. With the quick knockout win, Gaff now moves on to face the winner of the May semi-final between Rosi “The Surgeon” Sexton and Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly.

Gaff (10-4-1) wanted no part of Maia’s (5-2-1) attempt to touch gloves early on and she immediately swarmed with punches. Maia clipped her with a short counter hook, but it had little effect and Gaff clinched up. She landed two knees to the body, then followed with a left-right combo over the top that dropped Maia to her back. Gaff dove in with one more punch, but Maia was already unconscious and the bout was quickly stopped just ten seconds into the opening round.

Since making the move down from 145 pounds all the way to 125 this past year, Gaff has knocked out all three of her opponents in the first round. Two of those wins, including the destruction of Maia tonight, have ended in ten seconds or less. The hard-hitting German’s ten victories have all come by knockout or submission and she has become one of the fastest-rising stars in her new weight class.

Winner: Sheila Gaff by KO (Punches) at 0:10 of round one. She improves to 10-4-1 and advances to the finals of the Cage Warriors 125-pound women’s tournament.

  1. Don’t see Rosi or Daly stopping ze tank.

  2. Sheila Gaff wasn’t cutting weight when she was fighting at 145 lbs, and she was beating Cindy Dandois.

Now that she is figthing girls her size, she is an unstoppable beast.

I like what I see here. Let’s have a tournment with Rosi, Tara LaRosa, Sheila Gaff and Cat Zingano. I think these are the strongest girls at 125 lbs.

  3. 2/4 are involved in a tournament now.

  4. Sheila was cheap at that fight! She striked Jennifer when she was supposed to touch gloves, coz Jennifer was extending her hand in salutation.
Sheila you’re cheap and you ruined my perception of women art of fighting! Shame on you!

  5. …and Cat now fights at 135

  6. The fighters already touched gloves at staredown. They are instructed to come out fighting and there is absolutely no reason or requirement to touch gloves a second time. Sheila did nothing wrong. Second glove touches are pointless.

  7. Dirty move. IF she didn’t want to touch gloves as the fighters come together for the first time, custom is to nod no…. not ignore the glove tap and pummel her. She knew what she was doing, and it was a cheap move. I guess she was afraid of a straight up fight and needed this sad display to get the win.

  8. Since I haven’t seen the fight… did Sheila Gaff take Jennifer Maia by surprise?

Ian, Cat is having her debut at 135 lbs. It doesn’t mean she can go back to 125 lbs.

  9. Just saw the fight and Maia was extending her arm to salute Jennifer when she was punched… well… not really fair.

I think Cindy Dandois once complained about Sheila Gaff using nails and what not…

  10. *to salute Sheila

  11. Here it is:

According to Cindy Dandois, Sheila Gaff used her nails, pulled her hair and the strings of the ring… also, the knee to the head seemed “measured” by some people…

Maybe, Sheila is not a “clean” fighter.

  12. Hey Sarge, how about banning that idiot, and deleting that disgusting post?

  13. My final post on the subject:

Yeah, definitely, Sheila played dirty there… what she did was not illegal, but she should be ashamed…
