Despite taking the fight on less than three days’ notice, NAAFS champion Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly needed just 20 seconds to submit Angela Hayes at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship: “Fight Night 2” tonight in Amman, Jordan. Daly has now won back-to-back fights since suffering a loss in April.
With the quick and impressive win over Hayes, Ireland’s Daly now has her sights set on a rematch with Sheila “The German Tank” Gaff, who handed her the second defeat of her career. Daly stepped into the bout with Hayes after Gaff fell ill this week. She will defend her NAAFS title in November.
From the outset, Daly (12-2-0) brought the fight to Hayes (4-6-0) and backed her up to the cage with a flurry of punches. She clinched and tripped Hayes to the mat, but Hayes reversed on the way down and wound up on top. Within seconds, Daly secured an armbar from the bottom and rolled through. Hayes, who was trapped against the cage and could not escape, had no choice but to submit.
Winner: Aisling Daly by Submission (Armbar) at 0:20 of round one. She improves to 12-2-0.
An elated Daly stated after the fight that she had been working hard on improving her boxing in recent weeks and her punches were effective in the brief bout. She will return to the North American Allied Fight Series in Ohio on November 19th to defend her newly-won NAAFS 125-pound title against Kelly Warren. Daly won the belt by upsetting local favourite Jessica “Evil” Eye in June and has won three of her last four fights. She holds ten stoppage victories to date.

Hayes didn’t see it coming.
Good win for Aisling.
