Lettia Suchevich vs Shawna Brown

Round 1:
Suchevich tried to punch her way into a clinch right away, but ate some big right hands from Brown. More punches and knees landed for Brown and Suchevich countered with a combination and leg kicks. Brown scored with another flurry and threw Suchevich to the mat. Suchevich regained guard and worked for a heel hook. Brown stepped out and the fighters stood. Suchevich stuck to leg kicks and Brown threw winging hooks over the top. Suchevich tripped Brown with a kick at the bell. 10-9 Brown.

Round 2:
Suchevich caught a kick and landed punches in the second round, then took Brown down. She struck from the top in Brown’s half-guard, but Brown scrambled back to her feet. Brown clinched and landed knees. Suchevich countered with hooks and uppercuts in close. Suchevich rocked Brown with punches, but Brown stayed on her feet. More big punches landed for Suchevich, but she stumbled after a counter left from Brown. The fighters clinched and Suchevich defended a throw attempt. 10-9 Suchevich.

Round 3:
Suchevich jabbed in the final round as Brown looked to counter with punches and leg kicks. Suchevich landed a leg kick, right hook combo, then another one soon after. Brown clinched and tried for a takedown, but Suchevich easily defended and backed away. Brown clinched and landed a combination, but Suchevich answered with knees and leg kicks. The fighters traded punches at the bell. Close round. 10-9 Suchevich.

“Rowdy” Ronda Gale vs Carrie Anne Moore

Round 1:
Moore landed a right hook and clinched, then scored with knees to the body. Gale tried to land knees of her own, but Moore continued to pepper her with knees and left hooks to the body. The fighters separated and circled. Gale landed a counter kick and Moore backed up. Gale clinched and tried for a takedown. Moore grabbed the cage and was warned. Moore locked on a tight standing guillotine choke, but Gale held on and escaped just before the bell. 10-9 Moore.

Round 2:
Moore landed a quick flurry in the second round, but Gale secured a body lock and tripped her to the mat. She moved straight to mount, then took Moore’s back. Moore rolled and escaped, but Gale regained mount and then back control a second time. Gale locked on a rear-naked choke and Moore was forced to submit.

Winner: Ronda Gale by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 1:30 of round two.

 

Amateur Bantamweight Bout

Beth Revell vs Shelby Beechler

Round 1:
Beechler quickly took Revell’s back and dragged her to the mat. She looked for a rear-naked choke, but Revell spun and escaped. Revell worked from the top, then stood up and threw wild punches. Beechler got back to her feet and threw sloppy punches, which allowed Revell to take her back. Beechler fell to the ground and Revell landed in side-control. Beechler tried for an armbar and Revell used knees to the body and hammerfists to escape. Close round. 10-9 Beechler, barely.

Round 2:
The fighters exchanged punches and Beechler landed a leg kick. A clinch followed and Revell tried for a takedown. Beechler defended and both landed punches in a brief exchange. The fighters stayed in a clinch and threw punches over the top. Revell tried again for a takedown and met with no luck. She resorted to short punches to the body and Beechler answered with a one-two. Beechler countered a takedown and took Revell’s back very late to steal the round. 10-9 Beechler.

Round 3:
Revell punched her way into a clinch in the final round and both fighters landed punches in close. Revell backed away and scored with one-twos, but Beechler countered with leg kicks and big right hands. Revell took her down and moved to side-control. She isolated Beechler’s arms in a crucifix and rained down hammerfists and short punches from the top. Beechler defended by rolling to her side, but Revell landed punches all the way until the bell. 10-9 Revell.

Winner: Beth Revell by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29) after three 3:00 rounds.

 

Amateur Lightweight Bout

Andria Caplan vs Janelle Bloom

Round 1:
The fighters traded wild punches and Caplan scored with all sorts of rights and lefts. She continued to batter Bloom with punches non-stop for over a minute. Bloom’s technique was not good enough to counter Caplan’s strikes and Caplan punched and punched until the referee finally stopped the fight. Bloom never went down, but she was never in the fight.

Winner: Andria Caplan by TKO (Punches) at 1:30 of round one.

 

Amateur Featherweight Bout

Diane Hooper vs Kathryn Gardiner

Round 1:
Hooper scored liberally with punches and leg kicks in the opening round, as Gardiner struggled to find her range. Jabs and straight right hands found the mark for Hooper and she kept Gardiner off-balance. The fighters exchanged punches and Hooper got the better of it. She continued to rack up points with strikes until the end of the fairly one-sided round. 10-9 Hooper.

Round 2:
The second round began with another striking exchange as neither fighter seemed interested in taking the fight to the mat. Hooper landed jabs and Gardiner fired back with single punches. Both fighters continued to put together combinations and each landed stiff jabs in the latter half of the round. Hooper connected with a one-two and a leg kick shortly before the bell. 10-9 Hooper.

Round 3:
Round three began similarly to the first two, but Gardiner finally managed to take control of a striking exchange with a quick flurry and a big right hand. She backed Hooper up to the cage and landed knees and short punches in close. Hooper looked to counter with punches of her own and the fighters separated. Both landed jabs and leg kicks in the final minute. 10-9 Gardiner.

Winner: Diane Hooper by Unanimous Decision (30-29, 29-28, 29-28) after three 3:00 rounds.

 

Amateur Lightweight Bout

Lalani “Miss LaLa” Malley-Mancao vs Sarah Orensteen

Round 1:
Malley-Mancao scored a takedown early on in the first round. She quickly transitioned to back control and worked for a rear-naked choke. Malley-Mancao secured the choke and Orensteen was forced to submit. Quick and impressive win.

Winner: Lalani Malley-Mancao by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 0:27 of round one.
