Krush women’s kickboxing champion Syuri Kondo is set to make her mixed martial arts debut on April 24th at Pancrase 277 in Tokyo, Japan. The popular striker and pro wrestler squares off against unbeaten teen prospect Kanna Asakura in a featured strawweight matchup on the main card.
Pancrase officials announced the bout this past week. Kondo, who is one of Japan’s most successful female kickboxers, has set her sights on one day becoming a Pancrase champion. Asakura cracked the atomweight top ten with a win over ex-Valkyrie champ Yasuko “Ikuko” Tamada in September.

Brazilian standout Jennifer Maia scored the biggest victory of her MMA career in the co-main event of Invicta Fighting Championships 16 tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada. Maia avenged a past loss by defeating countrywoman Vanessa Porto for the Invicta FC Interim Flyweight Championship.
The Maia-Porto rematch was one of two flyweight bouts to split Fight of the Night honours on tonight’s card. Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio and Andrea “KGB” Lee also earned $1500 Fight of the Night bonuses, while strawweight Angela “Overkill” Hill took home a $1000 Performance of the Night bonus.

An injury in training has forced Deep Jewels Atomweight Champion “V.V” Mei Yamaguchi out of her upcoming bout at Pacific Xtreme Combat 52 on March 18th in Mangilao, Guam. In her place, Satomi “Sarami” Takano has stepped in to face off against Tessa “The Typhoon” Simpson on the card.
PXC confirmed the change this weekend following an announcement from Yamaguchi, who did not disclose specifics of the injury. Takano dropped a controversial Split Decision earlier today in a kickboxing match at Deep Jewels 11. Simpson has tasted defeat just one time in her pro career.
