UFC officials announced the featured strawweight bout on Monday evening. Torres posted a lopsided Unanimous Decision win over Angela Magana in her official Octagon debut at The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale in December. Earlier on the same card, Hill dominated Invicta FC veteran Emily Kagan.

Fresh off of a commanding victory in her UFC debut this past month, Marion “The Belizean Bruiser” Reneau earned another big win tonight at UFC Fight Night 61: “Bigfoot vs Mir” in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Reneau submitted heavy favourite Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade in the first round.
Tonight’s fight ended quickly, but the victory did not come easily for Reneau. She was dropped by a flurry of punches from Andrade in the opening 75 seconds, but recovered well on the ground and locked on a triangle choke from her back. Andrade was unable to escape and reluctantly tapped out.

Two-time Shoot Boxing JKS48 tournament winner Mio Tsumura picked up her 15th career victory on Saturday night in a featured bout at Shoot Boxing 2015: Act.1 in Tokyo, Japan. Tsumura outstruck opponent Miho Matsuda in rounds two and three en route to an impressive Unanimous Decision win.
Saturday’s fight was Tsumura’s second since she was edged out by highly-touted Japanese prospect Yukari Yamaguchi in the finals of the 48kg Shoot Boxing Japan Girls S-Cup in August. She landed crisp combinations in each round against Matsuda to take a well-deserved win on the scorecards.

In what proved to be her toughest fight to date, KSW Women’s Strawweight Champion Karolina Kowalkiewicz kept her undefeated record intact with a close decision victory tonight at KSW 30: “Genesis” in Poznań, Poland. Kowalkiewicz edged out Brazilian standout Kalindra Faria in a non-title bout.
Kowalkiewicz and Faria battled back and forth on the feet for 15 minutes in one of the most action-packed and entertaining women’s bouts in recent history. Kowalkiewicz’s superior boxing proved to be the difference maker in rounds two and three and she was rewarded with a Split Decision win.

The inaugural Deep Jewels featherweight title tournament began with the quarterfinal round on Saturday afternoon at Deep Jewels 7 in Tokyo, Japan. In the main event, former Valkyrie champion “V.V” Mei Yamaguchi earned her spot in the grand prix semi-finals by destroying veteran Miyoko Kusaka.
Grappling specialist Mina Kurobe kept her unbeaten record intact with a close decision win over former Deep Jewels interim lightweight champ Emi Tomimatsu. Joining Yamaguchi and Kurobe in the next round are Satomi “Sarami” Takano and Tomo Maesawa, who each scored decision victories.

Following an impressive win in her UFC debut, Joanne “JoJo” Calderwood has received an opponent for her second UFC bout. The Scottish standout will face unbeaten Ukrainian Maryna “The Iron Woman” Moroz on April 11th at UFC Fight Night 64: “Gonzaga vs Cro Cop 2” in Kraków, Poland.
UFC officials announced the strawweight fight this morning. Calderwood made it to the quarterfinal round of TUF 20 before falling to “Thug” Rose Namajunas, but won her first official UFC bout in December. Moroz, who was previously signed to XFC, has finished all of her opponents to date.
