A quarterfinal bout between Team Rousey’s Anthony “Sharkbait” Gutierrez and Team Tate’s Cody Bollinger was scrapped when Bollinger was unable to make weight at 135 pounds. Gutierrez received a bye to the next round. Following the Moras-Morgan bout, the semi-final fights were announced.

Brazilian prospect Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade spoiled the hometown return of Rosi “The Surgeon” Sexton today at UFC Fight Night 30: “Machida vs Munoz” in Manchester, England. Andrade showcased her striking skills en route to a one-sided Unanimous Decision win on the preliminary card.
Andrade was dominant from start to finish in the bantamweight battle and she battered and bloodied Sexton with hard punches. Sexton showed her resilience and fired back with punches of her own, but she was unable to stop Andrade’s offensive onslaught and the Brazilian earned a big victory.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship made its way to Phones 4U Arena in Manchester, England tonight for UFC Fight Night 30: “Machida vs Munoz.” The event was headlined by a middleweight showdown between Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida and “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Mark Munoz.

“Little” Patricia Vidonic took a step back towards the strawweight top ten with a hard-fought Split Decision win tonight at Pacific Xtreme Combat 40 in Mangilao, Guam. Vidonic narrowly edged out former Valkyrie champion “V.V” Mei Yamaguchi in the 115-pound co-main event on the PXC 40 card.
Yamaguchi started off strong and she controlled much of the opening round on the feet and on the ground, but she began to tire as the fight progressed and Vidonic scored with takedowns and submission attempts. Yamaguchi rallied late in round three, but it was not quite enough to steal back the win.

Former top-ranked flyweight Jessica “Evil” Eye made a big statement in her UFC debut tonight at UFC 166: “Velasquez vs dos Santos 3” in Houston, Texas. Eye earned a close and competitive Split Decision win over former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Sarah Kaufman on the card.
Eye and Kaufman engaged in an action-packed back-and-forth bout on the feet for three rounds tonight and both fighters landed hard shots. Kaufman came on strong in the third round and stunned Eye with punches, but the rally was not quite enough and Eye picked up her biggest win to date.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship came to Toyota Center in Houston, Texas tonight for UFC 166: “Velasquez vs dos Santos 3.” The card featured a UFC Heavyweight Championship trilogy fight between current champion Cain Velasquez and former titleholder Junior “Cigano” dos Santos.
In the heavyweight co-feature, unbeaten rising star Daniel Cormier took on Roy “Big Country” Nelson. Former Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Gilbert “El Niño” Melendez squared off against Diego “The Dream” Sanchez in a 155-pound matchup. MMARising.com has live play-by-play for the card.

Xtreme Fighting Championships crowned its first female flyweight champion tonight at XFC 26: “Night of Champions 3” in Nashville, Tennessee. In the co-main event on tonight’s card, Pearl Gonzalez submitted former Tuff-N-Uff champ Cortney “Cast Iron” Casey to win the inaugural 125-pound title.
Gonzalez escaped from a series of submission attempts from Casey, who was very active from her back throughout the fight, and she forced Casey to submit to an armbar late in round three. In a second female fight on the card, “Hurricane” Heather Clark defeated “Shockwave” Hannah Cifers.

UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey’s squad evened the score with Team Miesha “Cupcake” Tate at 3-3 during tonight’s seventh episode of The Ultimate Fighter 18. Michael Wootten earned a Unanimous Decision victory over Team Tate’s “Gentleman” Josh Hill.
Only two quarterfinal bouts remain this season and both fights will take place in two weeks’ time. Peggy “The Daywalker” Morgan looks to pick up another win for Team Rousey when she faces Sarah “Cheesecake” Moras. Morgan’s teammate, Anthony “Sharkbait” Gutierrez, battles Cody Bollinger.
