Rin Nakai Set To Face Priscila De Souza At Pancrase 282 In NovemberBantamweight Queen of Pancrase Rin Nakai continues her campaign in the flyweight division when she returns to action on November 13th at Pancrase 282 in Tokyo, Japan. Nakai, who earned a stoppage win in July, is set to face off against veteran Brazilian contender Priscila de Souza on the card.

Pancrase officials announced the matchup earlier this week. Nakai dropped back down to 125 pounds for her return to Pancrase on July 24th and finished Emiko “Fujin” Raika in the third round. De Souza, who has also competed frequently as a bantamweight, has won four straight fights.

Nakai (17-2-1) signed with the UFC in mid-2014 after racking up six straight wins under the Pancrase banner, including decision victories over MMA pioneer Tara LaRosa and former Invicta FC contender Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio. Her UFC run ended after Nakai suffered competitive decision losses to former UFC champion Miesha “Cupcake” Tate and Leslie “The Peacemaker” Smith, and she opted to move back down to her original weight class at 125 pounds upon returning home to Japan this year. At Pancrase 279, Nakai returned to the win column by stopping Raika with third-round elbows.

De Souza (12-6-0), like most of her Parana Vale Tudo teammates, has maintained an extremely active fighting schedule since turning pro in late 2013. She competed a remarkable 15 times in 2014 and 2015, and has posted victories in seven of her past nine fights. This year has been De Souza’s most inactive to date, however, and she has not fought since late January when she earned a Unanimous Decision victory over Luana Carvalho. She now takes a big step up in competition for her first fight in Japan when she faces off against one of the country’s top female stars.

Pancrase 282 takes place on November 13th at Differ Ariake in Tokyo, Japan.
