Juliana De Lima Carneiro Faces Nina Ansaroff At UFC Fight Night 56Brazilian strawweight Juliana “Ju Thai” de Lima Carneiro looks to pick up her first Octagon victory in front of local fans and supporters on November 8th at UFC Fight Night 56: “Shogun vs Manuwa” in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Lima faces off against Nina “The Strina” Ansaroff on the card.

UFC officials announced plans for the 115-pound fight today. Lima made her Octagon debut in late July and dropped a Unanimous Decision to Polish standout Joanna Jędrzejczyk. Ansaroff has won five straight fights and most recently knocked out Munah “The Perfect Storm” Holland at Invicta FC 7.

Lima (6-2-0) made a quick rise up the ranks in her native country with wins in each of her first five professional fights. The stretch included a key victory over highly-touted prospect Kinberly Novaes. In April 2013, Lima made her Invicta FC debut against the promotion’s current strawweight champion, Katja “Killer Bunny” Kankaanpää, but Lima came up short on the scorecards after three rounds. She rebounded with a quick TKO victory in October, but struggled to mount any offence in her UFC debut against Jędrzejczyk and lost a clear-cut decision.

Ansaroff (6-3-0) turned pro with an impressive decision win in September 2010, but she suffered defeats against high-level opponents in each of her next three fights. Since then, the Floridian has dominated all five of her professional opponents. She has knocked out three straight foes and most recently scored her biggest win to date in December when she viciously knocked out Holland in a flyweight bout. Both Ansaroff and Holland weighed in above the 126-pound limit for their Invicta FC matchup, and Ansaroff now makes an even bigger cut down to make 115.

UFC Fight Night 56: “Shogun vs Manuwa” takes place on November 8th at Tancredo Neves Municipal Gymnasium in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The event is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Jimi “Poster Boy” Manuwa.
