Jéssica Andrade Set To Face Kalindra Faria, Carina Damm In 2013Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade will make her return to the flyweight division for a pair of high-profile matchups later this year. On June 15th, the talented 21-year-old faces off against fellow rising star Kalindra Faria at Real Fight 9, which is set to take place in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil.

In addition, Andrade is also booked to battle long-time Brazilian standout Carina “Beauty But The Beast” Damm at Golden Fighters 6. That event is scheduled to take place on September 14th in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The two bouts were first reported by Tatame and Sul MMA, respectively.

Andrade (9-2-0) moved up to bantamweight for her most recent fight in April and scored an upset win over top Russian prospect Milana Dudieva at ProFC 47. Despite giving up a size advantage to her opponent, Andrade dominated most of the fight and submitted Dudieva with her signature guillotine choke late in the second round. Andrade has won seven of her past eight MMA bouts and her lone loss during that time came via competitive decision against current Invicta FC title contender Jennifer Maia. All nine of her victories to date have ended inside the distance. Andrade fought seven times in 2012.

Faria (9-3-1) has also maintained an active fighting schedule in recent years. On March 10, 2012, Faria became the first Pink Fight champion at 121 pounds when she picked up a Unanimous Decision victory over Aline Serio. This year, Faria made two appearances for the newly-formed Detonic Fight promotion, scoring second-round wins over Aline Sattelmayer and Dayse “Guerreira” Santos Nascimento. Faria is currently riding a five-fight winning streak. Before she faces Andrade, Faria is also expected to compete on June 1st against an opponent to be determined at Elite Combat Brasil.

Damm (17-8-0) has stuggled during the past three years, but she remains one of Brazil’s top female fighters. The battle-tested veteran holds key wins over recent Invicta FC title challenger Vanessa Porto, former DEEP champion and pound-for-pound standout Miku “Supernova” Matsumoto, and Bellator star Jessica “Jag” Aguilar. She became the first woman to defeat Faria when the pair faced off in September 2009. Like her Brazilian compatriots, Damm is also booked to compete multiple times this year. She first faces Jessica “Evil” Eye at NAAFS: “Fight Night In The Flats 9” on June 1st, and then an opponent to be determined at Dakota FC 16 on August 23rd, before ultimately facing Andrade in September.

During the time between her fights against Faria and Damm, Andrade also hopes to compete twice in July. She is currently in line to face the returning Ana Maria “India” at Web Fight Combat 2 on July 7th, and intends to fight again three days later in Peru, though an opponent has not yet been confirmed.
