Cage Combat champ Paulina “Firefox” Granados makes her pro debut on March 23rd at Xtreme Combat Productions and ABG Promotions: “Rocks Extreme MMA 2” in Corpus Christi, Texas. Granados has agreed to face off against Sarah “The Midget” Lagerstrom in an atomweight matchup.

MMARising.com confirmed plans for the 105-pound bout with sources close to the negotiations this week. Granados is unbeaten in her MMA career and captured the Cage Combat title in December. Lagerstrom, a talented striker from Washington, turns pro five weeks before she faces Granados in Texas.

Granados (4-0-0 amateur) has enjoyed a quick rise up the amateur ranks and is currently one of the top female prospects in her home state. The 25-year-old sports a well-rounded skill set and gained national attention this past April after defeating highly-touted opponent Jordan McDonald under the Tuff-N-Uff banner. In December, Granados faced off against Stephanie “The Cyclone” Alba in a rematch from both fighters’ MMA debuts in January 2011. After five hard-fought rounds, Granados prevailed via a close Split Decision to claim the Cage Combat 110-pound women’s title.

Lagerstrom (3-4-0 amateur) kicked off her career with victories in three of her first four fights, including first-round knockout wins in back-to-back fights. The Muay Thai practitioner then faced current Invicta FC fighter “Lightning” Liz McCarthy in a Budo Fights title bout and engaged in a competitive battle before succumbing to a guillotine choke in round four. Lagerstrom is now looking to get back on the winning track as she transitions to the professional ranks. Her pro debut takes place on February 16th when she faces Thea Wolfe at CageSport 23 in Tacoma, Washington.

In addition to the Granados-Lagerstrom matchup, a second female fight is also in the works for the XCP and ABG card. Granados’s former training partner, Jordan Nicole “Ninja Princess” Gaza (0-1-0), faces an opponent to be determined at 115 pounds. Gaza has a busy schedule during the first half of 2013 and is booked to compete in February, March and April.
