Jessica Eye Now To Face Ashley Nee At Ring Of Combat 34After original opponent Justine Kish was forced to withdraw due to what is believed to be a knee injury, unbeaten prospect Jessica “Evil” Eye now has a new opponent for her 130-pound title match at Ring of Combat 34 this Friday. Eye will face North Carolina native Ashley “No Limit” Nee.

Kish is thought to have suffered the injury in a jiu-jitsu competition this past weekend and withdrew from the bout with Eye as a result. Eye will now put her unblemished record on the line against Nee, who enters the title fight after earning a first-round submission victory just ten days ago.

Eye (2-0-0) made a name for herself as an amateur fighter in the North American Allied Fight Series, where she went 5-0 in amateur fights before turning pro last June. She picked up her first professional victory with a second-round stoppage of Amanda “Knockout” LaVoy and followed that up with a decision win over Marissa “Shorty” Caldwell in the main event of the all-female NAAFS: “Eve of Destruction” card in September. Regarded as one of the top female prospects in the 125-pound division, Eye will compete outside of the NAAFS for the first time when she faces Nee for the ROC title on Friday.

Nee (1-1-0) made her pro debut in October at Ring of Combat 32, but suffered a Unanimous Decision defeat against Team Tiger Schulmann representative Melissa Bopp. Nee rebounded with a rear-naked choke submission of the winless Linda Cunningham under the Blackeye Entertainment banner in North Carolina on January 21st and will now enter the fight with Eye on less than one week’s notice. Nee will also take a big step up in competition against Eye, who is easily her toughest opponent to date, but an upset victory would earn Nee both critical acclaim and a title belt.

Along with other local fighters from the Ohio area, Eye is rumoured to be a possible participant on the undercard of Strikeforce: “Columbus” on March 5th, though this has not yet been confirmed.

Ring of Combat 34 takes place this Friday, February 4th, at the Tropicana Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
