Jasminka Cive's Invicta Fighting Championships 5 BlogI, for my part, received some great news today and solved a big problem of mine that hindered me in the past. What I mean is the visa problem that I have had. As some of you know, I was scheduled to fight at Invicta FC 2, but some visa issues stopped me. Even if it wasn’t my fault that time, this time we did everything according to plan and everything worked out perfectly.

I thank Invicta for the great support and hints. In fact, just today I got my visa from the Austrian Embassy and I am pretty happy. Things got serious, so to speak. Haha. Now the fight at Invicta FC 5 is on. No excuses.

Nothing can stop me now, or “Ain’t no stopping us now,” to quote a famous song from the 80’s that a friend of mine showed me some weeks ago. Haha.

As you can see, I am a happy and positive person. I don’t know how familiar you all are with me, but that is why I will tell you a little something about me. I originally started with Muay Thai kickboxing and found my love for MMA through an MMA fight that I reffed. As a referee, I found MMA interesting and I wanted to learn it – and here I am, some years and five pro fights later.

Today…some years older, I am (hopefully) wiser and still respectful to all opponents, coaches, fans and supporters of the sport. I think that’s one of the main things, to respect everyone that trains hard and risks his or her life in the cage/ring. You give so much, dedicating years of your life. My fiancé, Willi, supports me a lot (sometimes he is a hot-head, haha), and then I have my little “baby” called Hope. Here is a picture of him.

I can’t wait for my fight and finally my U.S. debut; my Invicta debut, which is a dream come true. Thank you, Shannon and Janet!!! I will fight Bec Hyatt from Down Under. What are we waiting for? Let’s go!!!

How will the fight end, you ask? Well, I guess you’ll have to tune in on InvictaFC.com on April 5!

Please follow me on Twitter and Facebook to have a small inside look into my life and thanks for reading my little blog on MMARising. It’s an honor for me to let you all be a part of it. I also plan to film a Vlog with GnP-TV, Europe’s biggest German-speaking MMA news site, but I will try to do it either in English or with subtitles. Hopefully we can implement that into this blog to have it all together.

Xoxo from Austria,
Jasminka
