Arman Tsarukyan vs Matt “The Steamrolla” Frevola

Round 1:
Frevola landed a leg kick early in the first round and Tsarukyan responded with a takedown. Frevola stood once and Tsarukyan slammed him back down. Frevola worked back to his feet and Tsarukyan dragged him down again. The fight returned to the feet and both men landed punches. Frevola countered a takedown with a lateral drop, but Tsarukyan spun free and stood back up. Frevola landed a leg kick and Tsarukyan responded with a left hook and a combination. As Frevola moved forward, Tsarukyan landed a counter right hand and that led to an exchange of jabs. Frevola landed a step-in right hand and he cracked Tsarukyan with a hard right hook late in the round. 10-9 Tsarukyan.

Round 2:
Tsarukyan took Frevola down early in round two and he threw short punches from the top. Frevola tried to kick him off, but Tsarukyan landed two hard punches from the top. Frevola scrambled up against the cage and Tsarukyan dragged him back down. Frevola stood and balanced on one leg, but Tsarukyan landed a right hand and kicked out his other leg. He tried to set up a Brabo choke on the ground, but gave it up in order to move to side control. Frevola fought back to half-guard and Tsarukyan used punches from the top to set up an arm-triangle choke attempt. He switched to back control and threw punches to the side of Frevola’s head. 10-9 Tsarukyan.

Round 3:
Frevola avoided a takedown in the final round and the fighters spent over a minute circling and exchanging jabs. Tsarukyan shot in for a takedown and Frevola attempted a guillotine choke on the way down. Tsarukyan escaped and he tried for a guillotine of his own as the fighters stood back up. A stiff jab backd Frevola up and Tsarukyan slammed him down to the ground. He took Frevola’s back, but Frevola turned to his left and got back to his knees. He stood up and was immediately dragged back down. Tsarukyan moved from side control to North-South position and landed elbows during the transition. Late in the round, Tsarukyan attempted a rear-naked choke and he finished with punches from the top in Frevola’s half-guard. 10-9 Tsarukyan.

Winner: Arman Tsarukyan by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 16-2-0.

 

Brad Tavares vs Antônio “Cara de Sapato” Carlos Jr.

Round 1:
Carlos landed a combination early on and he punched his way into a clinch against the cage soon after. Tavares defended well and stayed on his feet, forcing Carlos to abandon the takedown attempt. The fighters separated and Tavares landed a right hook. Carlos rushed forward and tried again to take him down, but Tavares balanced on one leg and stayed up as Carlos backed him up to the fence once more. Tavares broke away from the clinch and both men landed leg kicks. Carlos followed with a body kick and he tried for a takedown. Once more, Tavares stayed on his feet and time was called when Tavares was kneed in the groin. The fight continued after a moment and Tavares landed a leg kick before the bell. 10-9 Carlos.

Round 2:
Tavares landed hard kicks to Carlos’s lead leg in the second round and he followed with a right hook that forced Carlos to circle away. Carlos briefly got Tavares down, but Tavares returned to his feet and Carlos held him against the fence. Tavares shook him off and the fighters traded jabs. Tavares landed two right hands and a leg kick, then knocked Carlos off-balance with a pair of hard jabs. Tavares continued to outstrike Carlos and he fought off another takedown attempt. A big right hand landed for Tavares, but time was called when he kicked Carlos in the groin. When action resumed, Tavares landed a three-punch combination. 10-9 Tavares.

Round 3:
The final round began with an exchange of leg kicks and right hands. Tavares prevented Carlos from taking him down as the fighters battled against the cage. Carlos nearly tripped Tavares, but Tavares regained his balance and the fighters were separated. Tavares landed a leg kick and an uppercut as Carlos dropped levels. A combination landed for Tavares and he stuffed yet another takedown attempt from Carlos. Close and uneventful final round. 10-9 Tavares.

Winner: Brad Tavares by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 18-6-0.

 

Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen” Peña vs Sara McMann

Round 1:
After a cautious opening minute the fighters traded combinations and McMann landed two more punches before faking a takedown attempt. McMann landed another flurry and then took Peña down. As Peña tried to get to her feet against the cage, McMann took her back and hunted for a rear-naked choke. Peña scrambled up and McMann landed a hard knee to the body. She tripped Peña again and landed on top in side control. Peña got back to full guard and struck from the bottom with elbows until the end of the round. 10-9 McMann.

Round 2:
Peña countered a McMann takedown with a tight guillotine choke in the second round. McMann kicked off of the cage and escaped from the choke, but Peña threw elbows from the bottom and tried to set up an armbar. McMann landed short elbows and then postured up with punches. She took Peña’s back and worked for a rear-naked choke while Peña punched backward. Peña stood up and escaped from a bulldog choke before briefly attempting a standing guillotine. McMann held Peña against the cage and both women landed knees to the body. Peña broke free with a three-punch combo in the final seconds. Back-and-forth round. 10-9 Peña.

Round 3:
The final round began with an early clinch after Peña pressed forward with punches. McMann reversed position against the cage, but Peña threw her down into side control. Peña landed hammerfists to the side of McMann’s head as McMann got to her knees and tried to stand up. Peña moved to back control and she sunk in both hooks while working for a rear-naked choke. Peña locked on the choke and McMann defended initially by breaking her grip. Peña adjusted and tightened the choke again, forcing McMann to tap out.

Winner: Julianna Peña by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 3:39 of round three. She improves to 10-4-0.

 

Marcin Prachnio vs Khalil “The War Horse” Rountree

Round 1:
Rountree scored with early left hands, but Prachnio fired back with a head kick and a quick flurry of punches. He followed with a side kick to the body and another head kick attempt. Rountree grazed with an overhand left and landed a hard kick to Prachnio’s lead leg. A powerful body kick scored for Rountree, who pressed forward with a one-two and another kick to the body. The fighters exchanged leg and body kicks as the round entered its final minute. Rountree blocked a switch kick and landed a knee to the body as Prachnio connected with a right hook. Rountree landed a front kick to Prachnio’s left leg before the bell. Close opening round. 10-9 Prachnio by a slim margin.

Round 2:
Both fighters were active with their kicks in the second round and Prachnio landed an overhand right. Rountree responded with a combination that led to an exchange of left hooks. Two straight lefts scored for Rountree, but Prachnio continued to walk forward with punches and kicks. Rountree countered a knee with two left hooks and a kick to Prachnio’s ribs. Prachnio threw side kicks to Rountree’s leg and body and he followed with a one-two. Rountree hurt Prachnio with a counter right hook and he partially landed a head kick. Prachnio regained his footing and he landed a leg kick, but Rountree scored with another hard right hook late in the round. 10-9 Rountree.

Round 3:
Rountree landed left hooks and body kicks in the final round and Prachnio punched his way into a clinch. Rountree pushed him away and the fighters continued to trade hooks and one-twos. Prachnio connected with a right hook and he kept the pressure on with more punches and a leg kick as Rountree began to slow down. Rountree landed a right hook, but Prachnio continued to score with right hands to Rountree’s head and body. In the final 30 seconds, Prachnio landed more punches to the body and head of Rountree, who circled away and countered with a left hook. 10-9 Prachnio.

Winner: Marcin Prachnio by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 14-5-0.

 

Movsar Evloev vs Nik “The Carny” Lentz

Round 1:
Both men landed one-twos in the opening minute and Lentz scored a takedown near the cage, but Evloev reversed on the way down. Lentz locked on a tight guillotine choke from the bottom and he rolled Evloev over into mount. Evloev was in some trouble, but he stayed calm and freed his head. A scramble followed and Evloev wound up in Lentz’s guard. Lentz secured another guillotine choke and Evloev pulled his head out before moving to half-guard. He landed short left hands from the top and then postured up with more punches. Late in the round, Evloev landed a hard right hand and he moved to side control. 10-9 Evloev due to the late-round offence.

Round 2:
Evloev punched his way into close quarters in round two, but Lentz backed him up with a counter right hook. Evloev lunged forward with an overhand right and a lead left hook. Lentz’s face continued to swell up, but he dragged Evloev down with a front choke that he converted into a guillotine. Evloev spun free and the fight returned to the feet. Lentz landed a solid knee to the body and a lead left hand that led to an exchange of punches in close. A cut was opened above Lentz’s right eye and he jumped into another guillotine choke. Evloev managed to break free and he returned to his feet. Lentz threw leg kicks and Evloev answered with two right hands. The close round ended with Lentz working for a takedown. 10-9 Lentz.

Round 3:
After trading knees early on, Lentz pressed forward with punches and a body kick while Evloev jabbed and circled to his left. Lentz was the aggressor with his punches, but Evloev countered with one-twos and time was called when Lentz was poked in the eye. Action resumed and Lentz shot in for a takedown. Evloev sprawled out and he landed punches in close as the fighters returned to their feet. Evloev landed a left-right combo and a head kick that was partially blocked. Blood sprayed off of Lentz’s face as Evloev landed hard jabs and he countered a body kick from Lentz with five more quick punches late in the round. 10-9 Evloev.

Amir “The Prince” Albazi vs Zhalgas Zhumagulov

Round 1:
After an early exchange of jabs and leg kicks, Zhumagulov landed a lead left hook and he followed with overhand rights. The fighters continued to trade leg kicks and jabs until Albazi backed Zhumagulov up with a flurry. Zhumagulov countered a knee with two power punches and he just missed with a looping right hook. Albazi took him down into side control and Zhumagulov worked back to his feet against the cage. He broke free from the clinch and Albazi landed stiff jabs. Zhumagulov responded with a left hook and a leg kick. He secured a takedown with 30 seconds to go and landed short punches from the top. Close opening round. 10-9 Zhumagulov.

Round 2:
Albazi opened round two with a hard leg kick and two right hands. He followed with another leg kick and kept Zhumagulov on the defensive with quick one-twos. Zhumagulov missed with a counter combination and Albazi continued to attack his lead leg. The fighters traded jabs and Albazi easily shrugged off a Zhumagulov clinch attempt. In the final seconds, Zhumagulov dropped levels and Albazi took partial back control. He briefly threatened with a rear-naked choke and landed a left hand as the fighters stood up. 10-9 Albazi.

Round 3:
The pace remained high in the final round and both men landed punches early on. Albazi countered a Zhumagulov flying knee by taking him down against the base of the fence. He effortlessly passed to side control and then took Zhumagulov’s back. Albazi worked to set up a rear-naked choke and Zhumagulov defended. Albazi continued to work for chokes until Zhumagulov scrambled up to his feet with one minute remaining. Zhumagulov was aggressive on the feet with punches to the body and he looked to set up a big right hand. Albazi countered with a jumping switch knee late in the round. 10-9 Albazi.
