Bryce “Thug Nasty” Mitchell vs Bobby “The Wolfman” Moffett

Round 1:
Mitchell threw a head kick early on that was blocked and Moffett fired back with right hands. A big left hand dropped Moffett, but he recovered quickly and took Mitchell down. Mitchell returned to his feet and attempted a guillotine choke, which he used to drag Moffett down. Mitchell first looked for a rear-naked choke and then switched to a triangle choke after Moffett turned into his guard. Moffett stayed calm and eventually freed himself, and the fight returned to the feet again. Mitchell fought off a takedown attempt with a short uppercut and he caught a kick from Moffett. The fighters battled for position against the cage and Moffett was unable to take Mitchell down. 10-9 Mitchell.

Round 2:
Moffett secured a takedown in round two and he landed punches from the top while passing to half-guard. Mitchell scrambled up and he landed a spinning back kick to the body. The fighters traded hooks and Mitchell landed a nice one-two. Moffett took him back down and trapped Mitchell in a Brabo choke, but Mitchell rolled until he was able to free his head. He immediately took Moffett’s back and looked for a unique armbar from a rear crucifix position. Moffett escaped and finished the round on top. 10-9 Moffett.

Round 3:
Moffett took Mitchell back down in the final round, but Mitchell countered with an armbar attempt from the bottom and the fighters returned to their feet. Moffett landed an overhand right and he took Mitchell down again. Mitchell defended from the bottom and he eventually secured a reversal into back control. Mitchell locked on a tight rear-naked choke and he flattened Moffett out. Moffett refused to tap out and he escaped from the choke once, but Mitchell relentlessly worked for a second one. The fighters stood and the bell sounded soon after. 10-9 Mitchell, barely.

Winner: Bryce Mitchell by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 11-0-0.

 

Marlon “Chito” Vera vs Frankie Saenz

Round 1:
Vera landed two hard leg kicks early in the fight and Saenz struggled to find his range. He landed a right hand, but Vera responded with another leg kick and he dropped Saenz with a lunging left jab. Saenz collapsed to the mat and Vera landed punches and hammerfists – including two to the back of Saenz’s head – until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Marlon Vera by TKO (Punches) at 1:25 of round one. He improves to 13-5-1.

 

Jennifer Maia vs Alexis “Ally-Gator” Davis

Round 1:
Davis landed jab-kick combos in the opening seconds and Maia fired back with quick flurries of punches. The fighters clinched and Davis pinned Maia against the cage. Maia broke free, but Davis pressed forward with punches and trapped her against the fence again. Short knees landed for Davis, but Maia backed her up with a body kick and a hard combination. A dazed Davis staggered backward and tried to pull guard, but Maia had none of it. She forced Davis to stand and immediately punished her with a right hook and an uppercut. Davis recovered and clinched once more, but this time Maia reversed. Davis threw knees and Maia responded with some of her own. Close round. 10-9 Maia due to damage.

Round 2:
Round two began with Davis landing kicks to the body, but Maia tagged her with left and right hooks in return. Davis scored with a combination of her own and she dumped Maia to the mat after catching a kick. Davis swiftly passed to mount and Maia had to act quickly to get back to half-guard. Davis postured for a keylock and she began to land hammerfists and elbows from the top. Davis continued to pepper Maia with short punches until the end of the round. 10-9 Davis.

Round 3:
Maia got the better of the striking exchanges early in round three by landing crisp combinations and avoiding Davis’s counters. More punches landed for Maia and Davis replied with a body kick. More body kicks scored for Davis, but Maia outstruck her with quick flurries and she snapped Davis’s head back with jabs. Maia slipped and Davis looked tot ake advantage, but Maia quickly regained her footing and landed a left hook as Davis threw another kick to the body. Davis continued to eat jabs to the nose as she pressed forward, but she managed to secure a clinch against the cage. Maia broke free by landing knees and a three-punch combination shortly before the end of the fight. 10-9 Maia.

Winner: Jennifer Maia by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 16-5-1.

 

Randa “Quiet Storm” Markos vs Angela “Overkill” Hill

Round 1:
Hill struck first with a leg kick and Markos answered with a knee in a clinch. Markos landed two more knees and an elbow, and she rushed forward with a lunging flurry that backed Hill up against the cage. Markos threw Hill to the mat and she moved from side control to mount. Hill rolled to her side and Markos peppered her with left hands to the face. Markos took full back control in search of a rear-naked choke and then transitioned to an armbar. She wrenched back on Hill’s right arm and Hill hastily tapped out.

Winner: Randa Markos by Submission (Armbar) at 4:24 of round one. She improves to 9-6-1.

 

Chris “El Guapo” Gutierrez vs Ryan “Main Event” MacDonald

Round 1:
Gutierrez opened the fight with kicks to MacDonald’s lead leg and body, and he followed with a spinning back kick. Gutierrez kept MacDonald off-balance with more varied kicks as the round progressed. He targeted MacDonald’s midsection with side kicks and right hands. In the final 20 seconds, MacDonald finally pressed forward with a combination of punches and a leg kick, but his offence in the opening round was extremely limited. 10-9 Gutierrez.

Round 2:
Gutierrez picked MacDonald apart with more leg and body kicks in the second round. A chopping leg kick caused MacDonald to limp and Gutierrez pressured him with a flurry of punches. A Gutierrez elbow caused MacDonald to begin bleeding from the hairline, and he looked to take the fight to the mat, but Gutierrez stuffed his takedown attempts and hurt MacDonald again with another leg kick late in the one-sided round. 10-9 Gutierrez.

Round 3:
More leg kicks hurt MacDonald in round three, and he was unable to secure a takedown after briefly clinching with Gutierrez. A right hand from Gutierrez re-opened the cut on MacDonald’s hairline, which began to bleed profusely. Gutierrez picked his shots with stiff leg kicks and one-twos. Punch-kick combos continued to score for Gutierrez, who began to attack MacDonald’s other leg. Gutierrez got cocky and tried for a flying scissor heel hook, which resulted in him on his back with MacDonald striking from the top. Gutierrez tried for an armbar and a guillotine choke, but time expired. 10-9 Gutierrez.

Winner: Chris Gutierrez by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 13-4-1.

 

Jordan Espinosa vs Eric “Showtime” Shelton

Round 1:
Shelton pressed the action early on and Espinosa looked to counter with a takedown, which was stuffed. Espinosa scored with a combination and Shelton landed a nice right hand in return. Espinosa scored with leg kicks and Shelton cracked him with another right hand. Time was called after Shelton was kicked in the groin, but action resumed soon after and both men landed kicks. Espinosa clinched and scored with a knee to the body before backing away. 10-9 Espinosa.

Round 2:
The second round began with Shelton landed leg kicks and a lead left hook. Espinosa fired back with a lunging right cross to the jaw. The fighters continued to trade strikes and Shelton got the better of the exchanges by landing punch-kick combos that kept Espinosa guessing. Shelton countered a failed spinning back kick attempt from Espinosa by landing a quick flurry and he reversed an Espinosa takedown soon after. The fight returned to the feet and Shelton rushed forward with punches before the bell. 10-9 Shelton.

Round 3:
Time was called early in the final round after Shelton was poked in the eye. The doctor determined that he could continue and action resumed. Shelton walked Espinosa down with right hands and leg kicks, and he caught a kick from Espinosa. Shelton remained the aggressor and he pressed forward with punch-kick combos as Espinosa circled to the side and countered with jabs. A hard leg kick landed for Shelton and he followed with a right hook. Shelton caught a leg kick and landed two right hooks in return. Both men landed heavy punches in the final 30 seconds and Shelton connected with the better shots. 10-9 Shelton.

Winner: Jordan Espinosa by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 14-5-0, 1 NC.
