Roman “The Caucasian” Dolidze vs Phil “No Hype” Hawes

Round 1:
Hawes ducked under an early head kick from Dolidze and shrugged off a clinch attempt. A right hand landed for Hawes and he took Dolidze down into full guard. Dolidze threw elbows from the bottom and then transitioned from an armbar attempt to an ankle lock. As Hawes tried to escape, his knee popped, but the fight was allowed to continue as he struggled to his feet. Soon after, Dolize landed two hard right hands, then knocked Hawes unconscious with a flurry of three punches that sent Hawes crashing to the mat.

Winner: Roman Dolidze by KO (Punches) at 4:09 of round one. He improves to 11-1-0.

 

Marcos Rogério “Pezão” de Lima vs Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski

Round 1:
De Lima dropped Arlovski in the opening seconds with a right-left combo and he took top position on the ground in Arlovski’s half-guard. Arlovski tried to get to his feet against the cage and de Lima took partial back control. He used punches to set up a neck crank attempt, then adjusted his grip and secured a rear-naked choke. Arlovski tapped out immediately.

Winner: Marcos Rogério de Lima by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 1:50 of round one. He improves to 20-8-1.

 

Jun Yong “The Iron Turtle” Park vs Joseph Holmes

Round 1:
In the opening minute, Holmes landed a leg kick and a quick combination. Time was called when Park was poked in the eye, but action quickly resumed and Park caught a body kick. He tripped Holmes and tried to take his back. Holmes turned to his right and Park worked from S-mount. He moved to back control and worked for a rear-naked choke. Holmes turned over into Park’s guard and then took his back in a scramble. 10-9 Park.

Round 2:
Park initiated a clinch and dragged Holmes down into back control. He mounted him and landed short right hands as Holmes turned and tried to sit up against the cage. He gave up his back and Park flattened him out. Park locked on a rear-naked choke, but Holmes managed to break his grip. Park resumed punching and then flattened Holmes out again. He secured another rear-naked choke and this time Holmes tapped out.

Winner: Jun Yong Park by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 3:04 of round two. He improves to 15-5-0.

 

Steve “Mean Machine” Garcia vs Chase “The Dream” Hooper

Round 1:
Garcia dropped Hooper with a left hook in the early stages of the fight, then scored two more knockdowns in the ensuing seconds. The right side of Hooper’s face turned purple, but he got back to his feet each time. A final left hook and an uppercut sent Hooper crashing to the mat, and Garcia followed with punches on the ground for a quick stoppage win.

Winner: Steve Garcia by TKO (Punches) at 1:32 of round one. He improves to 13-5-0.

 

Cody Durden vs Carlos “Tizil” Mota

Round 1:
Durden landed a big right hook and took Mota down into side control early on. Mota fought his way back to full guard, then threw up his legs for an armbar and then a triangle choke. Durden escaped and passed to half-guard. He postured up with a hard right hand and Mota got back to full guard again. Durden landed an elbow and he threw more short elbows from the top late in the round. 10-9 Durden.

Round 2:
Mota fought off one takedown attempt, but Durden got him down on his second try. Durden landed occasional strikes from the top and Mota attempted an armbar. Durden defended well and he landed a few more strikes before the end of the uneventful round. 10-9 Durden.

Round 3:
Mota attacked the body with punches in the final round, but Durden dove at his ankle and tripped him to the mat. Mota tried unsuccessfully for a kneebar and Durden took his back in the process. He trapped Mota in a body triangle and threw short right hands to the side of his head. Durden tried to mount Mota, but Mota spun into his guard and then stood up. Durden followed and he promptly took Mota back down. and Mota countered with three hard hammerfists to his face while posturing for an inverted heel hook. Mota then switched to a conventional heel hook and finished the round with a powerful hook to Durden’s body. Close final round. 10-9 Durden by a slim margin due to control.

Winner: Cody Durden by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 14-4-1.

 

Christian “CeeRod” Rodriguez vs Joshua “Wide Open” Weems

Round 1:
Weems landed a hard body kick in the opening minute and Rodriguez answered with a right cross. In a clinch against the cage, Weems landed an elbow and he followed with a quick flurry in close before working for a takedown. He got Rodriguez down into side control, but Rodriguez stood back up almost immediately. Weems pulled half-guard and Rodriguez stood again. He landed a spinning back elbow and Weems used a body lock to take him down. Rodriguez quickly countered with an Anaconda Choke from the bottom. He rolled to his right to tighten the choke and Weems tapped out.

Winner: Christian Rodriguez by Submission (Anaconda Choke) at 4:07 of round one. He improves to 8-1-0.
