Francisco “Massaranduba” Trinaldo vs Danny “Hot Chocolate” Roberts

Round 1:
Roberts slipped while throwing an early kick and Trinaldo landed a strong left hand to his jaw as he rose to his feet. A clinch followed and Trinaldo landed an uppercut before breaking away. Trinaldo blocked a head kick in between landing two left hooks. Roberts landed two overhand lefts and Trinaldo responded with one of his own. Roberts picked up the pace with a leg kick and two quick punching combos while pressing forward. A big left hook landed for Trinaldo and he followed with a right. Hard left hands were exchanged and Trinaldo blocked a head kick. He landed a lead right hook and a left, and the round ended with both fighters landing punches after the bell sounded. Close first round. 10-9 Trinaldo.

Round 2:
Trinaldo badly rocked Roberts with a lead right hand in the second round and Roberts staggered all over the place as he retreated to the cage. Trinaldo opted to clinch with him, which gave Roberts an opportunity to recover. The fighters separated and Trinaldo landed two hooks and a knee. He hurt Roberts again with two left hooks and a standing elbow, then locked on a guillotine choke and pulled Roberts down to the ground. He released the choke and threw elbows to Roberts’s face from side control. Trinaldo tried to set up an arm-triangle choke and Roberts broke his grip. Roberts finally got to his feet with 30 seconds to go and the fighters exchanged haymaker punches. 10-8 Trinaldo.

Round 3:
Roberts charged at Trinaldo with a flying knee and two more knees in a clinch, but Trinaldo countered effectively with a pair of uppercuts. Roberts missed with a looping left and he held Trinaldo against the cage momentarily. Trinaldo circled out and he landed a left hook and an uppercut. Trinaldo blocked a head kick and rocked Roberts with a counter hook to the temple. Roberts recovered and Trinaldo landed a left hook and a stiff jab. Both men landed huge left hands at the same time and they battled for position against the cage. Trinaldo got Roberts down to a knee in the final seconds. 10-9 Trinaldo.

Macy Chiasson vs Norma “The Immortal” Dumont Viana

Round 1:
Dumont landed two right hooks during the opening minute and Chiasson tried to set up one-twos. Both fighters landed a leg kick apiece and Chiasson threw two kicks to the body. A straight left landed for Chiasson and Dumont replied with an overhand right. She tried to clinch, but Chiasson landed a hard left hook on the break. Dumont scored with a three-punch combination and Chiasson landed a side kick to the body. A one-two from Chiasson was answered by two hooks from Dumont, and Chiasson took Dumont down late in the close round. 10-9 Chiasson.

Round 2:
Chiasson landed a lead left hook early in round two and Dumont countered a leg kick with an overhand right. Chiasson chopped away with another hard leg kick, then set up a clinch by throwing two hooks over the top. She held Dumont against the fence and took her down into back control. As Dumont stood up, she shook Chiasson off of her back, but Chiasson returned to her feet and pinned Dumont against the cage once more. Chiasson attempted a lateral drop and failed, and the fighters stood back up. Chiasson got Dumont down to a knee very briefly, and the round ended in a standing clinch. 10-9 Chiasson.

Round 3:
Dumont rocked Chiasson with two right hooks very early in the final round. Chiasson dropped down for a takedown and she wound up holding Dumont against the cage. Chiasson landed a knee to the body and Dumont cracked her with two uppercuts in close. That prompted Chiasson to take Dumont down, but she could not keep her there. Dumont reversed a leg-sweep takedown and briefly held top position. Back on the feet, she hurt Chiasson with a right hook and a fatigued Chiasson shot in for a desperation takedown. Dumont tried to secure a standing guillotine choke, but she could not lock her hands together. 10-9 Dumont.

Winner: Macy Chiasson by Split Decision (30-27, 30-27, 28-29) after three rounds. She improves to 8-2-0.

 

Brandon “Raw Dawg” Royval vs Matt “Danger” Schnell

Round 1:
The pace was very high right from the opening bell and the fighters traded punches until Schnell dropped Royval with a right hook. Royval scrambled up and Schnell tried to pull guard with a guillotine choke. He switched to a Brabo choke grip, but lost the position and the fighters got to their knees. Royval then pulled guard with a tight guillotine choke that was much more effective than Schnell’s had been, and Schnell hastily tapped out immediately.

Winner: Brandon Royval by Submission (Guillotine Choke) at 2:14 of round one. He improves to 14-6-0.

 

Blagoy “Baga” Ivanov vs Marcos Rogério “Pezão” de Lima

Round 1:
De Lima landed leg and body kicks early in the fight, but time was called when Ivanov was kicked in the groin. The fight resumed and de Lima landed two hooks followed by a leg kick. He closed the distance with an uppercut, but Ivanov was unfazed and he answered with a left hook. De Lima fired off a flurry to the body and finished with a left hook to Ivanov’s jaw. More power punches were exchanged and Ivanov landed a right-left combo. He caught a kick from de Lima and clinched with him against the cage, but de Lima pushed him away and the round ended with both fighters landing hooks as the bell sounded. 10-9 de Lima.

Round 2:
After an uneventful clinch, the fighters separated and Ivanov landed a short left hook while closing in for a takedown. De Lima backed up against the cage and Ivanov held him in place. De Lima shrugged him off and Ivanov landed a right hook followed by a left. Another hard left hook scored for Ivanov, who clinched. De Lima pushed him away and landed a stiff jab, but Ivanov punched his way into another clinch and he held de Lima in place until just before time expired. 10-9 Ivanov.

Round 3:
Ivanov landed a left-right combo in the final round that opened a cut on de Lima’s right cheek. De Lima responded by dropping levels for a takedown against the cage, but Ivanov stuffed it. The fighters were separated and Ivanov landed a left hook. De Lima answered with a right uppercut and the fighters clinched again. They separated and Ivanov pressed forward with punches. He held de Lima against the fence once more until de Lima pushed him off. Ivanov landed two hooks and de Lima took him down in the final seconds. 10-9 Ivanov.

Winner: Blagoy Ivanov by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 19-4-0, 1 NC.

 

Andre Fialho vs Cameron “The Invader” VanCamp

Round 1:
VanCamp kept his distance and kicked at Fialho’s lead leg in the opening 30 seconds. Fialho landed a calf kick and VanCamp stunned him with a counter one-two. He pursued and landed two more punches, but Fialho countered with a left hook and VanCamp took a step back. Soon after, both men landed leg kicks and Fialho connected with a counter left hook. VanCamp continued to move forward and he threw an uppercut, but Fialho cracked him with another counter left hook that sent VanCamp crashing to the mat and ended the fight.

Winner: Andre Fialho by KO (Punch) at 2:35 of round one. He improves to 16-4-0, 1 NC.

 

Tracy Cortez vs Melissa Gatto

Round 1:
Cortez landed two quick calf kicks and she countered a combination from Gatto with a double-leg takedown. Gatto postured for an armbar from the bottom and Cortez slammed her way free. Gatto continued to try to set up armbars and Cortez stood up. Gatto followed and Cortez landed a one-two. Gatto took her back and pulled her down to the ground. Cortez spun and wound up in Gatto’s guard. She landed short elbows from the top and kept Gatto’s head pinned against the base of the cage. Gatto kicked Cortez off and rose to her feet, but Cortez landed a right hook and clinched before the bell. 10-9 Cortez.

Round 2:
Gatto initiated a clinch and tried to take Cortez’s back against the cage. Cortez prevented her from doing so and landed a knee to the body before breaking free. Gatto landed a left hook and she took Cortez down very briefly. Cortez stood and Gatto pulled her back down to the mat. She sunk in both hooks from back control and flattened Cortez out. Gatto landed punches and Cortez tried to roll free. Gatto stayed on her back and she transitioned to an armbar, but Cortez stood up and pulled her arm out. She took top position in Gatto’s guard and landed two punches as Gatto threw elbows from her back. Gatto attempted one more armbar before the end of the close round. 10-9 Gatto despite Cortez’s late rally.

Round 3:
Cortez took Gatto down in the final round and she struck from the top in Gatto’s half-guard. Gatto tried to roll and get up, but Cortez kept her down. When Gatto attempted to scramble again, Cortez landed two right hands and Gatto trapped her left leg. She first worked for a heel hook and then a kneebar. Cortez pulled her leg out and the fighters battled for top position against the base of the cage. Cortez took mount and she landed two elbows before locking on an arm-triangle choke. Gatto turned to her side and escaped, then shrimped back to full guard. Cortez punched from the top and prevented Gatto from standing up. 10-9 Cortez.

Winner: Tracy Cortez by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 10-1-0.

 

C.J. Vergara vs Kleydson “K.R.” Rodrigues

Round 1:
Leg kicks were exchanged in the opening minute and Rodrigues landed a right hook. Vergara closed the distance and landed a combination, but Rodrigues took him down. Vergara got back to his feet and both men landed knees to the body before separating. Rodrigues landed a hard body kick and a quick right hook. Vergara landed a lead left hook and avoided a takedown. Rodrigues landed two front kicks and a leg kick, then a winging right hook. The round ended with Rodrigues landing two body kicks. 10-9 Rodrigues.

Round 2:
Vergara seemed to hurt Rodrigues with a body kick in the second round and Rodrigues shot in for a sloppy takedown. He wound up on the bottom with Vergara on top in mount. Vergara landed elbows and Rodrigues managed to get back to full guard. Vergara postured up with elbows to Rodrigues’s body and head. He remained active on the ground with his strikes and prevented Rodrigues from using the cage to get back to his feet. Vergara mounted Rodrigues in the final minute and landed punches. Rodrigues gave up his back and then escaped to his feet. He threw a spinning backfist and a spinning back elbow, but neither had much of an effect. 10-9 Vergara, if not a 10-8.

Round 3:
Vergara landed a stiff jab and a switch knee to the body in round three. Rodrigues fired back with a right hook. A three-punch combo from Vergara hurt Rodrigues, who retreated to the cage and fell down after Vergara landed a knee. As Vergara dropped down, Rodrigues was able to take his back and he trapped his leg in a calf slicer. Rodrigues held him in place for a minute until Vergara freed his leg and took top position. Rodrigues swept and worked from Vergara’s guard. Vergara kicked him off and stood up, then broke free from the clinch with a knee and a left hook. Rodrigues took him down for a split second, but Vergara quickly stood and landed a knee to the body. Rodrigues took his back and held him against the cage. Back-and-forth final round. 10-9 Vergara due to the early-round damage.

“Loopy” Lupita Godinez vs Ariane “Sorriso” Carnelossi

Round 1:
Carnelossi closed the distance right away and Godinez countered with a knee. She tripped Carnelossi and landed two elbows from half-guard. When Carnelossi turned to her side, Godinez tried to lock on a neck crank. Carnelossi escaped and dove at Godinez’s ankle, but that allowed Godinez to fully take her back. Carnelossi briefly stood and Godinez quickly whipped her back down to the mat. She maintained top control and landed short left hands to Carnelossi’s face. More short punches and elbows scored for Godinez before the bell. 10-8 Godinez.

Round 2:
Godinez stunned Carnelossi with a right hook early in the second round and she swarmed on her with more punches before taking Carnelossi down. Godinez landed a big elbow on the ground and then a knee to the body when Carnelossi tried to stand up. Godinez took Carnelossi’s back, but Carnelossi rolled to her side and Godinez wound up on top in her half-guard. She eyed a keylock and a kimura on Carnelossi’s left arm. Godinez locked on an arm-triangle choke, but Carnelossi kept her legs trapped and prevented Godinez from passing to side control to tighten the choke. Godinez eventually let it go and Carnelossi stood up in the final seconds. 10-8 Godinez.

Round 3:
The final round began with an emphatic Godinez takedown into side control. She took Carnelossi’s back and Carnelossi rolled for a kneebar attempt. Godinez defended very well and freed her leg within seconds. Carnelossi stood and Godinez battered her with knees and short uppercuts. She took Carnelossi down and struck with punches and elbows to Carnelossi’s temple. When Carnelossi briefly stood against the cage, Godinez landed knees and punches, then slammed her down once more and finished the round with ground and pound. 10-8 Godinez.

Winner: Lupita Godinez by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27) after three rounds. She improves to 8-2-0.

 

Journey Newson vs Fernando “Fernie” Garcia

Round 1:
Newson landed a side kick to Garcia’s chest and another side kick that grazed Garcia’s jaw. Garcia countered with a quick flurry of punches and Newson scored a takedown soon after. Garcia scrambled up to his feet and separated from the clinch. He landed a hard right hand in close and the fighters traded left hooks. Newson landed a body kick and the round ended with an exchange of right hands in a clinch against the cage. 10-9 Garcia by a slim margin due to damage.

Round 2:
The second round began with Newson landing two hard calf kicks and Garcia landed a kick in return. Newson landed a big one-two and he wobbled Garcia with a lead left hook. Garcia recovered and Newson landed a side kick. He followed up with a leg kick and Garcia responded with a right hook. Leg kicks were exchanged and Newson countered a right hand from Garcia with a switch kick to the body. 10-9 Newson.

Round 3:
Newson followed up on two leg kicks with a takedown into back control. Garcia shook him off of his back and returned to his feet. He landed a leg kick and Newson answered with a right hook. He followed with a strong kick to Garcia’s body and grazed with an overhand right. Garcia landed one more leg kick and Newson jumped forward with a switch kick to the body. He spun Garcia around with a calf kick and hurt him with a right hook. Another hard leg kick and a spinning wheel kick scored for Newson before the bell. 10-9 Newson.
