Sara McMann vs Karol Rosa

Round 1:
McMann landed an overhand right early in the fight and she took Rosa down. McMann moved to half-guard and eyed a keylock on Rosa’s left arm before switching to elbows to her face. McMann threw short punches to Rosa’s body and tried again for a keylock. Rosa defended, but McMann kept her pinned down and landed a right hand in the final 15 seconds. 10-9 McMann.

Round 2:
Rosa began the second round with a right hook and she prevented McMann from clinching. McMann’s second attempt to close the distance was successful, and she slammed Rosa down into back control. McMann held Rosa in place, but she was not able to secure a choke or mount any offence from the back. Eventually, McMann secured a body triangle and she tried to pull Rosa’s left arm back for an armbar. McMann wrenched back on the arm and Rosa defended while in McMann’s guard until the bell. 10-9 McMann.

Round 3:
Rosa charged at McMann with punches in the final round, but McMann got her back down to the mat. She hopped on Rosa’s back as Rosa stood up. Rosa shook her off, but McMann pulled her down to the ground in the process. Rosa stood and McMann maintained her grip on Rosa’s waist. Rosa turned into the clinch and got McMann down, but McMann landed three upkicks as Rosa stood over her. Rosa settled into McMann’s guard and punched from the top. Rosa eventually stood up, but that allowed McMann to follow her to her feet. She attempted a takedown and Rosa countered with elbows to the side of her head. Rosa thwarted a takedown attempt, but McMann was able to trap her in a front headlock on the ground. Back-and-forth round. 10-9 Rosa.

Winner: Sara McMann by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. She improves to 13-6-0.

 

Chris “El Guapo” Gutierrez vs Danaa “Storm” Batgerel

Round 1:
Gutierrez struck first with a leg kick and a jab, and he dropped Batgerel with a second leg kick. Batgerel stood and he switched stances after Gutierrez landed two more kicks to his lead leg. Gutierrez landed a jab and a leg kick, but Batgerel cracked him with two right hooks and that led to a brief clinch. The fighters exchanged jabs after separating, and Gutierrez ducked under a Batgerel left hook. Gutierrez landed three leg kicks in the final minute, but he attempted in ill-advised spinning back elbow and Batgerel took his back. He slammed Gutierrez down and blasted him with elbows from the top in the final seconds. 10-9 Batgerel due to the late-round rally.

Round 2:
In the second round, Gutierrez returned to throwing leg kicks and he mixed in a one-two as well. He ducked under a right hook from Batgerel and landed another leg kick. He went high with a head kick and then dropped Batgerel with a spinning backfist. Batgerel barely remained conscious and Gutierrez dove in with elbows on the ground until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Chris Gutierrez by TKO (Spinning Backfist & Elbows) at 2:34 of round two. He improves to 18-4-2.

 

Aliaskhab Khizriev vs Denis Tiuliulin

Round 1:
Khizriev landed a head kick and a straight left to begin the fight, and Tiuliulin landed a hard right cross in response. Khizriev took him down and he tried to pass to mount. Tiuliulin attempted to get to his feet against the cage and Khizriev took his back. He threw knees to Tiuliulin’s ribs and held him down until Tiuliulin stood up with 90 seconds remaining. He landed a left-right combo and flurried to the head and body. Big punches were exchanged and Khizriev landed a knee, but he failed with a takedown attempt. Khizriev held Tiuliulin against the cage and he landed a knee to the body in the final seconds. 10-9 Khizriev.

Round 2:
Tiuliulin countered a left cross from Khizriev with a straight right. Both men landed combinations and Khizriev finished his with a liver kick. He took Tiuliulin down into back control and quickly locked on a rear-naked choke. Tiuliulin held on momentarily before tapping out.

Winner: Aliaskhab Khizriev by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 1:58 of round two. He improves to 14-0-0.

 

Manon “The Beast” Fiorot vs Jennifer Maia

Round 1:
Fiorot threw side kicks to the body from a distance in the opening minute. She also darted in and out and one-twos while Maia maintained a boxing-centred offence. She landed a strong right hand that briefly backed Fiorot up. Fiorot landed another side kick and a left cross. Maia initiated a clinch, but Fiorot reversed it against the cage. Maia broke away with a right hand, but Fiorot landed a powerful kick to the liver. She continued to attack Maia’s body with side kicks and a knee. Maia landed a head kick and Fiorot immediately responded with a takedown attempt. Maia stayed on her feet and the round ended with Fiorot throwing two more side kicks. 10-9 Fiorot.

Round 2:
Fiorot was able to reverse a takedown into top control in the second round, but she was unable to mount much offence from the top and Maia powered out to her feet. She tried to take Fiorot down and Fiorot defended. Maia attempted another takedown and Fiorot reversed it on the way down. Once more, Fiorot briefly struck from top position until the fight returned to the feet. Fiorot used a body-lock takedown to get Maia down, but Maia rose to her feet and landed a head kick. Fiorot kept her distance and she landed side kicks to the body as Maia tried to close the distance with a right hook. 10-9 Fiorot.

Round 3:
Maia tried for a takedown against the cage in the final round and Fiorot stuffed it. She landed a side kick and a lead right hook. Maia got her down for a split second, but Fiorot stood right back up. She jumped forward with a flying switch knee to the body. Maia landed a body kick and Fiorot immediately responded with a side kick. Maia ducked under a crescent kick and clinched. Fiorot broke away and resumed throwing side kicks. She missed with a spinning wheel kick and Maia landed a right hand late in the fight. 10-9 Fiorot.

Winner: Manon Fiorot by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. She improves to 9-1-0.

 

Matheus Nicolau Pereira vs David “The Undertaker” Dvořák

Round 1:
The fighters circled during a prolonged period of inactivity and the crowd booed the lack of action. Pereira eventually landed a counter one-two as Dvořák closed the distance. Pereira stayed outside of Dvořák’s range and he landed a right hand. Dvořák finally connected with a leg kick late in the round as the boos came in from the crowd. 10-9 Pereira.

Round 2:
The action remained sparse in the second round. Jabs were exchanged, but nothing significant landed until Pereira scored with a hard right hook. Not long after, Pereira landed a lead left hook to Dvořák’s temple that caused him to stagger backwards and fall. Dvořák recovered enough on the ground to survive Pereira’s follow-up strikes, but Pereira landed an elbow that caused Dvořák’s nose to bleed before the bell. 10-9 Pereira.

Round 3:
Pereira opened the final round with another lead left hook and he followed that up with a two-punch combo. Dvořák tried to take Pereira’s back, but Pereira spun free and he jabbed as Dvořák closed the distance. Dvořák landed a knee and he stuffed a Pereira takedown. Pereira lunged forward with a left hook to the jaw and he shot in for a takedown, but wound up on the bottom. Pereira hunted for a heel hook, but Dvořák freed his leg and moved to Pereira’s full guard. He passed to half-guard and peppered Pereira with hammerfists until the end of the fight. 10-9 Pereira despite Dvořák’s late top control.

Winner: Matheus Nicolau Pereira by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 18-2-1.

 

Luis Saldaña vs Bruno “The Tiger” Souza

Round 1:
Souza chased after Saldaña with body kicks early on and he continued to throw kicks to Saldaña’s lead leg and body while pressing forward. Saldaña circled to the side and landed a leg kick, but Souza cracked him with a right hook. Saldaña connected with a one-two and he took Souza down into a partial back control. Souza scrambled up to his feet and Saldaña tripped him again. He landed a hard hammerfist strike while sitting on Souza’s chest. Close round due to Saldaña’s late takedowns. 10-9 Souza due to damage.

Round 2:
Saldaña landed a combination in the second round and Souza resumed pressing forward with leg kicks. He avoided a spinning backfist from Saldaña, but Saldaña took him down and worked from the top. He cut Souza with an elbow before Souza escaped to his feet. Souza walked forward with jabs and leg kicks, and he backed Saldaña up against the cage with a flurry to the body just before the bell. Again, 10-9 Souza due to damage.

Round 3:
Souza was the aggressor in the final round, but he only threw one strike at a time and that allowed Saldaña to landed a hard leg kick. Souza landed a right cross and Saldaña lost his balance while attempting a wild spinning backfist. He stood and landed two body kicks, but Souza caught one and briefly took him down. Back on the feet, Saldaña landed two hard right hands while showboating and ducking under Souza’s punches. The fighters clinched and Souza landed an elbow on the break. 10-9 Saldaña. Scores could be all over the place.

Winner: Luis Saldaña by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 16-7-0.
