Roan “Jucao” Carneiro vs Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz

Round 1:
Carneiro used a front headlock to take Munoz down into side control early on. Munoz tried to scramble and Carneiro immediately took his back. He locked on a rear-naked choke and Munoz was rendered unconscious within seconds.

Winner: Roan Carneiro by Technical Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 1:40 of round one. He improves to 20-9-0.

 

Roman “El Gallito” Salazar vs Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto

Round 1:
Salazar countered Yamamoto’s lunging punches with body kicks in the opening 90 seconds, but Yamamoto connected with a looping right hook. He fought off a takedown attempt and both men landed lead hooks. Yamamoto jumped in with an uppercut and time was called after he was poked in the eye. Action resumed and Yamamoto landed an overhand right. Close and uneventul round. 10-9 Yamamoto by a slim margin.

Round 2:
The second round began with a brief takedown from Salazar, who followed with a rushing one-two after the fight returned to the feet. Yamamoto punched free from a clinch and time was called again after Sazalar suffered an eye poke. Salazar landed a nice left hook after the restart and Yamamoto answered with a short left hand in return. Time was called once more after Salazar was badly poked in the eye. The contact was accidental, but Salazar’s left eye was damaged and he could not see, which forced a premature end to the fight.

Result: No Contest (Accidental Eye Poke) at 2:37 of round two. Salazar moves to 9-3-0, 1 NC, while Yamamoto is now 18-6-0, 2 NC.

 

Tim “The Dirty Bird” Means vs Dhiego Lima

Round 1:
The fight began with an exchange of body kicks and Means landed a quick one-two. He stunned Lima with punches and dropped him with an elbow. Lima recovered on the ground and stood up, but Means unloaded with knees and more elbows. He staggered Lima with a left cross and dropped him with more punches that forced referee Herb Dean to stop the fight.

Winner: Tim Means by TKO (Punches) at 2:17 of round one. He improves to 23-6-1.

 

Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis vs Ruan “Fangzz” Potts

Round 1:
Potts circled on the outside and threw occasional kicks early on. He ducked under a left hook from Lewis and clinched, but Lewis reversed and scored a brief takedown. The fighters stood and time was called after Potts was kneed in the groin. Action resumed and Potts landed a nice body kick, but he lost his balance and Lewis attacked with punches on the ground. Potts countered with a kneebar and a heel hook, but Lewis escaped to his feet.

Potts took Lewis down and worked from the top in half-guard. He looked to set up a kimura, but Lewis swept and landed big punches from the top. Potts tried to counter with another leglock, but Lewis nearly knocked him out with a devastating right hand. Potts recovered and scrambled back to his feet. He initiated a clinch and Lewis punched to the body until the bell. 10-9 Lewis.

Round 2:
Lewis just missed with a head kick in round two and he hurt Potts with follow-up punches. Potts shot in for a takedown and Lewis stuffed it. He landed more right hands as Potts turtled on the mat. Potts rolled and Lewis punched from Potts’s guard. Potts turtled again and Lewis continued to land punches until the fight was mercifully stopped.

Winner: Derrick Lewis by TKO (Punches) at 3:18 of round two. He improves to 12-3-0, 1 NC.

 

Undercard Fights:

– Valmir “Bidu” Lazaro defeated “The” James Krause by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 13-3-0 with the win.

– Masio “Lobo” Fullen defeated Alex “Rolo” Torres by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 11-4-0 with the win.
