“The California Kid” Urijah Faber vs Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres

Round 1:
Faber took Caceres down early in the fight, but he could not keep him there for long. Caceres stood and broke free of a clinch against the cage, but Faber initiated a scramble on the feet and took him down once more. He spent the remainder of the round pressuring Caceres with punches from the top. Caceres defended from his back and managed to stand up just before the bell. 10-9 Faber.

Round 2:
Faber got Caceres back down in round two and avoided a triangle choke on the ground. Caceres stood and landed a body kick, but Faber caught it and tripped him. Caceres momentarily broke free from Faber’s grip, but Faber secured a slick hip toss takedown. Caceres got back up and the fighters clinched and traded short strikes against the cage. 10-9 Faber.

Round 3:
After an exchange of punches in round three, Faber caught a kick and took Caceres down against the fence. He transitioned to Caceres’s back and trapped his left arm with his legs. Seconds later, Faber locked on a rear-naked choke and Caceres was forced to submit.

Winner: Urijah Faber by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 1:09 of round three. He improves to 31-7-0.

 

Kenny Robertson vs Ildemar “Marajo” Alcantara

Round 1:
Robertson attempted a takedown against the cage in the opening minute and he eventually got Alcantara down. From the top, Robertson landed short punches and elbows and he kept Alcantara pinned down on the ground. More punches and elbows scored for Robertson and Alcantara could do little more than hold on from the bottom. Robertson continued to punish him with strikes until the bell. 10-9 Robertson.

Round 2:
Alcantara opened round two with head kick attempts and Robertson replied with right hands. He kept Alcantara on the defensive and mixed things up with leg kicks. Alcantara stuffed a takedown, but Robertson was relentless and got him own on his second try. He worked for a modified full nelson and punched with his right hand. Alcantara scrambled up and landed a knee to the body. Robertson dragged him back down and mounted him soon after. He rained down punches and elbows and nearly secured a keylock on Alcantara’s right arm. Robertson landed big elbows to close out the round. 10-8 Robertson.

Round 3:
Time was called early in round three after Alcantara was kneed in the groin. The fight resumed and Robertson landed punches and another knee. This one also struck Alcantara in the groin and time was called again. Action eventually continued and Alcantara secured a trip takedown. Robertson swept into top position and landed punches from Alcantara’s guard. The fighters were stood up and Alcantara threw Robertson to the ground. He stood over Robertson and dropped punches until the end of the fight. Close round. 10-9 Robertson.

Winner: Kenny Robertson by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-26) after three rounds. He improves to 14-3-0.

 

Bruno “Carioca” Santos vs Chris Camozzi

Round 1:
The fight began with an exchange of right hands early on and Camozzi used his reach advantage to keep Santos at a distance. He kicked at Santos’s liver and rushed in with a three-punch flurry. Camozzi scored with a right hook and a knee, but Santos immediately answered back with a series of punches over the top. He clinched twice against the cage and looked for a takedown, but Camozzi stayed on his feet until the bell. 10-9 Camozzi.

Round 2:
Santos countered kicks by taking Camozzi down in round two. He landed short punches from the top and Camozzi countered with elbows. Santos eventually passed to side control, but Camozzi regained half-guard and soon got back to full guard. He cut Santos with elbows and Santos moved back to side control. Camozzi stood and tried for a takedown, but he wound up on the bottom and Santos punched with his right hand. Very close round. 10-9 Santos, barely.

Round 3:
Camozzi kicked at Santos’s lead leg in the final round and the fighters exchanged looping hooks. Camozzi jabbed and backed Santos up with a left cross. Santos picked him up and slammed him down. Camozzi grabbed the cage on two occasions on the way down. He used a kimura attempt to get back to a knee and continued to work for the submission. Camozzi stood up and pressed forward with punches, but Santos caught a knee and slammed him down again. Camozzi tried for another kimura before time expired. 10-9 Camozzi.

Winner: Bruno Santos by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 14-1-0.

 

Rob Font vs George “Money” Roop

Round 1:
Roop struck his way into a clinch early in the first round, but Font created space and broke free. Roop landed an overhand right and Font replied with a leg kick. Seconds later, he landed a massive right hook that froze Roop in place. Roop fell forward and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Rob Font by KO (Punch) at 2:19 of round one. He improves to 11-1-0.

 

Undercard Fights:

– Luke Zachrich defeated Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 14-3-0 with the win.

– “King” Kevin Casey defeated Bubba “The Fightin’ Texas Aggie” Bush by KO (Elbows) at 1:01 of round one. He improves to 9-3-0 with the win.
