Alan Patrick “Nuguette” Silva Alves vs John “The Bull” Makdessi

Round 1:
Patrick immediately closed the distance in search of a takedown. Makdessi landed two right hands and stuffed a takedown attempt. Patrick missed with two spinning backfists, but he landed a hard leg kick. The fighters traded punches and Patrick landed a jumping knee to the body. Both men landed kicks and Patrick threw another knee to the midsection. He took Makdessi down and held him against the cage as he stood up. 10-9 Patrick.

Round 2:
Makdessi countered lunging punches from Patrick with short uppercuts early in round two. Patrick tried for a takedown and Makdessi stuffed it. Makdessi landed a one-two and Patrick answered with a knee to the body. Patrick bullrushed Makdessi to the ground and took his back on the way up. Makdessi broke free and the fighters traded kicks. Now bleeding from the bridge of the nose, Makdessi landed stiff jabs and outside leg kicks. Little transpired in the final 20 seconds. 10-9 Makdessi.

Round 3:
Patrick landed left hooks to begin round three and Makdessi countered a body kick with a right hand. Patrick fired off a head kick and Makdessi stuffed a takedown. He landed more jabs and knocked Patrick down with a front kick. Patrick stood and connected with two solid uppercuts in close. He took Makdessi down very briefly, but Makdessi sprung back to his feet. The fighters were separated and Makdessi landed a body kick. Patrick replied with one of his own and ate a quick flurry. 10-9 Patrick.

Winner: Alan Patrick by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 12-0-0.

 

Chris “Kamikaze” Cariaso vs Danny “The Gremlin” Martinez

Round 1:
Martinez looked for an early takedown, but Cariaso defended and stayed on his feet. Martinez tried again to take the fight to the ground and Cariaso stuffed it once more. Both fighters landed punches and Cariaso mixed up his strikes with front kicks and jabs. Martinez finally got him down against the cage and Cariaso punched from the bottom. He stood and Martinez landed a knee. Martinez elevated Cariaso and slammed him down, but Cariaso countered with elbows from his back. Close round. 10-9 Cariaso, in spite of Martinez’s takedowns.

Round 2:
Big punches were exchanged in the second round and both men landed cleanly. Martinez worked for takedowns as the crowd grew restless. Cariaso circled out and landed a head kick. He flurried to the body, but Martinez answered right back with a combination of his own. He got Cariaso down to a knee and the fighters battled against the cage. Martinez tripped Cariaso again, but Cariaso stood and threw a head kick before the bell. 10-9 Cariaso.

Round 3:
Cariaso jabbed and landed leg kicks in the final round, but Martinez cracked him with a series of overhand lefts. He worked for a takedown and pressured Cariaso with more punches. Cariaso circled free of a clinch and landed kicks to the upper body. Martinez walked him down with looping hooks, but Cariaso sidestepped. He continued to jab and followed with a hard one-two. Martinez tried to take him down in the final 15 seconds. Another close round. 10-9 Cariaso, barely, due to the late-fight offence.

Winner: Chris Cariaso by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 16-5-0.

 

Nick “The Jersey Devil” Catone vs Tom “Kong” Watson

Round 1:
Watson landed leg kicks in the opening two minutes and Catone responded with a nice right hand. More leg kicks scored for Watson and Catone closed the distance against the cage. He took Watson down and tried to transition to back control. Watson got back to his knees and Catone pulled him back down. Watson stood and rushed in with a body kick attempt before the bell. 10-9 Watson.

Round 2:
Watson continued to switch up his stance repeatedly in the second round and he targeted Catone’s lead leg with kicks. Catone circled on the outside and countered Watson’s kicks with right hands. He took Watson down briefly, but Watson battled back to his feet against the cage. Catone secured another takedown and Watson stood again. He cut Catone on the nose and landed a knee late in the close round. 10-9 Watson.

Round 3:
Watson pressed the action with more hard leg kicks in the final round. Time was briefly called after Catone was poked in the eye and Watson continued his assault on Catone’s leg after the restart. He went high with a kick, but Catone blocked it. Watson landed more leg kicks and Catone tried to take him down. He got Watson down into back control and landed short punches against the cage. Watson worked his way back up just before time expired. 10-9 Watson.

Winner: Nick Catone by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 10-4-0.

 

“Raging” Al Iaquinta vs Kevin “The Motown Phenom” Lee

Round 1:
After an early exchange of punches, Iaquinta rocked Lee with a hard right hand. Lee retreated and Iaquinta dropped him with another right hook. Lee returned to his feet and circled while regaining his composure. The fighters traded more punches and Lee shot in for a takedown. Iaquinta countered with an inverted heel hook attempt. Lee escaped and he tried to take Iaquinta’s back as the fight returned to the feet. Lee landed a knee and Iaquinta jabbed. The round ended with an exchange of right hands. 10-9 Iaquinta.

Round 2:
Lee shot in and took Iaquinta down early in the second round. He quickly transitioned to Iaquinta’s back and locked on a rear-naked choke. Iaquinta separated Lee’s arms and escaped the choke. Lee continued to hunt for submissions while throwing occasional elbows to the sides of Iaquinta’s head. He maintained a body triangle and rolled Iaquinta over, but Iaquinta defended well and prevented Lee from securing another rear-naked choke. 10-9 Lee.

Round 3:
Iaquinta hurt Lee again with right hands in the opening seconds of round three, but Lee recovered and scored a takedown. Iaquinta tried for another heel hook and Lee punched his way free. He pressed forward with punches in search of a takedown, but Iaquinta kept him at bay with jabs and one-twos. Iaquinta shrugged off a takedown and he landed more short left hands. Lee connected with a left-right combo, but Iaquinta tagged him with another right hook. He landed more punches before the bell. 10-9 Iaquinta.

Winner: Al Iaquinta by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-27) after three rounds. He improves to 8-2-1.

 

Undercard Fights:

– Clint “Headbussa” Hester defeated Andy “Lionheart” Enz by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 10-3-0 with the win.

– Rashid “Highlander” Magomedov defeated Tony Martin by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 16-1-0 with the win.

– Neil Magny defeated Gasan “Cobra” Umalatov by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 9-3-0 with the win.
