Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone vs Evan Dunham

Round 1:
Dunham tried for a takedown right away and Cerrone countered with a knee. He landed another knee to the body and rocked Dunham with one to the face. Dunham stumbled backwards and Cerrone dropped him with punches. He dove in with more hard shots on the ground, but Dunham narrowly survived. Cerrone landed elbows and tried to move to mount, but he lost the position. Dunham swept and Cerrone immediately attempted a triangle choke.

Cerrone switched to an omoplata and used it to sweep. The fighters returned to their feet and Dunham threw knees to the thighs, but Cerrone backed him up with two knees to the face. He kicked at Dunham’s lead leg and cut him near the left eye with punches. Cerrone mixed up his strikes with knees, leg kicks and punching combinations. Kicks were exchanged in the final seconds. 10-8 Cerrone.

Round 2:
Cerrone landed kicks to the leg and body in the second round and followed with a knee. He continued to throw knees to the body and head as Dunham closed in. Dunham snuck in two lead right hooks, but he could not get Cerrone down. Cerrone grazed Dunham’s chin with a head kick and took his back. He dragged Dunham down into side control. A scramble ensued on the ground against the cage and Dunham wound up on top. Cerrone locked on a triangle choke from the bottom and rolled it into mount, forcing Dunham to submit.

Winner: Donald Cerrone by Submission (Triangle Choke) at 3:49 of round two. He improves to 21-6-0, 1 NC.

 

Thales Leites vs Ed “Short Fuse” Herman

Round 1:
Wild punches were exchanged right away and Leites dropped Herman with two looping hooks. Herman upkicked from the bottom as Leites stood over him and punched. Leites moved to half-guard and then to side control. Herman scrambled back up to his feet and Leites tripped him to the mat. He took Herman’s back and worked for a rear-naked choke. Herman defended and stood up just before the bell. 10-9 Leites.

Round 2:
Leites clinched and backed Herman up to the cage in the second round, but Herman stayed on his feet and landed knees to the body. Leites finally got him down and transitioned to back control. Herman scrambled and regained guard, then landed an upkick. He was warned for kicking a downed fighter and Leites moved again from side control to Herman’s back. Herman rolled once more and Leites closed out the round on top. 10-9 Leites.

Round 3:
Leites landed a lunging one-two in the final round and held Herman against the cage. Herman reversed the clinch and broke free with a hard left hook. Leites landed a winging overhand right and tried for a takedown. Herman blatantly held on to the cage right in front of referee Kim Winslow, who did not take a point. Leites got Herman down anyway and transitioned to back control. Herman scrambled and Leites mounted him right before the bell. 10-9 Leites.

Winner: Thales Leites by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 22-4-0.

 

Rick “The Horror” Story vs Brian “Bad Boy” Ebersole

Round 1:
Ebersole stayed on the outside early in round one and threw unorthodox strikes as Story pressed forward with haymaker punches. A left hook landed for Story and he followed with a combination. Story flurried to the body and stuffed a takedown. Ebersole threw a combination, but Story tagged him with two more counter lefts. He landed another nice left hand before the bell. 10-9 Story.

Round 2:
Story briefly took Ebersole down in round two and landed a left hook as the fight returned to the feet. Ebersole landed stiff jabs, but he could not get Story down and Story continued to score with left hooks. Story countered Ebersole’s strikes with punches and leg kicks and he rocked Ebersole with a left hand in the final minute. Ebersole regained his footing and the fighters exchanged power punches just before the bell. Story landed a big right hook, but lost his balance as Ebersole fired back with punches in return. 10-9 Story.

Round 3:
Story tripped Ebersole in the second round and dropped a left hand to the face from top position. Ebersole stood and both fighters landed leg kicks. Story’s had more power behind them and he landed a combination to the body and head. He closed in with another vicious combination and hurt Ebersole with a leg kick. Ebersole limped away and Story dropped him with two more leg kicks. He landed knees to the body on the ground before time expired. 10-9 Story.

Winner: Rick Story by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 16-7-0.

 

Erik “El Goyito” Perez vs Edwin “El Feroz” Figueroa

Round 1:
The fighters traded punches early on and Perez threw a body kick. Time was called seconds later after Figueroa was kicked in the groin. The fight continued and Perez tried for a takedown against the cage. He took Figueroa’s back, but Figueroa spun free and backed away. Perez knocked Figueroa down with a front kick to the body. Figueroa stood and both men landed right hands.

A hard right hook scored for Perez and Figueroa responded with a body kick. Perez caught it and took Figueroa down. He moved to half-guard, but lost the position in a scramble and the fighters stood up. Perez landed a knee and secured another takedown. He closed out the round with short elbow strikes from the top. 10-9 Perez.

Round 2:
Perez dropped Figueroa early in round two with a left hook to the body and a vicious right hand to the jaw. Figueroa stood and Perez landed more two-punch combos. He slammed Figueroa down and punched from back control. Figueroa tried to stand and Perez kept him pinned on the mat. Figueroa eventually got back to his feet and Perez broke away with a slashing elbow.

Figueroa landed a hard right hand of his own, but Perez quickly replied with a left hook. Another right hand scored for Figueroa and Perez took him down. He worked from Figueroa’s guard and landed short elbows. Perez passed to half-guard and referee Kim Winslow immediately stood the fighters up for no reason. Time expired in the round seconds later. 10-9 Perez.

Round 3:
The final round began with an exchange of punches and Perez blocked a body kick. Figueroa narrowly ducked underneath a spinning hook kick and Perez scored a takedown. He moved from half-guard to side control and landed knees to the body. Figueroa scrambled up and Perez threw more knees. He took Figueroa back down, but Figueroa quickly stood up. Figueroa landed a hard left hand and Perez backed him up with a right hook. 10-9 Perez.

Winner: Erik Perez by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 14-5-0.

 

Undercard Fights:

– Jason “The Kansas City Bandit” High defeated Anthony “The Recipe” Lapsley by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 18-4-0 with the win.

– Sergio “The Phenom” Pettis defeated Will Campuzano by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 10-0-0 with the win.

– Gian Villante defeated Cody “Donnybrook” Donovan by TKO (Punches) at 1:22 of round two. He improves to 11-4-0 with the win.
