As expected, Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Champion Seika Izawa remained undefeated and scored another quick submission win tonight at Rizin Fighting Federation 49: “Decade” in Saitama, Japan. Izawa tapped out short-notice foe Lucia Apdelgarim with a first-round triangle armbar.
Izawa had originally been slated to face Rena Kubota on tonight’s card, but that bout was scrapped when Kubota sustained an injury. Izawa’s Rizin title was not on the line against the massive underdog, Apdelgarim, but she nevertheless put forth another strong effort while securing the victory.
Shooto held its fourth all-female Colors event tonight at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. The ten-fight Shooto: “Colors 4” card was headlined by an Infinity League women’s atomweight tournament bout between Ayane Hirata and fellow teen prospect Noeru “Noel” Narita, as both sought a key win.
Invicta Fighting Championships travelled to The Eastern in Atlanta, Georgia tonight with its latest all-female card. Invicta FC 59 was headlined by a bantamweight title matchup between champion Talita Bernardo and former flyweight titleholder Jennifer Maia, who won her Invicta FC return in August.
