Alexis Davis vs Jessica Eye Added To UFC 170 Card In FebruaryA second women’s bout has now been added to the UFC 170: “Rousey vs McMann” card, which takes place on February 22nd in Las Vegas, Nevada. Highly-touted jiu-jitsu black belt Alexis “Ally-Gator” Davis faces fast-rising star Jessica “Evil” Eye in a featured bantamweight contender’s matchup.

UFC officials announced the fight on Monday night. Davis has won seven of her past eight fights and she sports a perfect 2-0 record inside the UFC. Eye made a big statement in her Octagon debut in October by outpointing former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Sarah Kaufman at UFC 166.

Rousey submitted bitter rival Miesha “Cupcake” Tate with her signature armbar in tonight’s highly entertaining co-main event.

For the first time in her young mixed martial arts career, Rousey had to fight beyond the opening round in the much-anticipated rematch with Tate, but she controlled most of the action-packed fight on the ground. Mika Nagano Retires, New Fights Added To Deep Jewels 3 CardJapanese star Mika “Future Princess” Nagano has confirmed plans for her retirement from mixed martial arts in early 2014. Nagano is the latest in a string of recent retirees and she will compete in a final exhibition match at Deep Jewels 3 on February 16th in Tokyo. The news was announced today.

Deep Jewels producer Yasuko “Pink Spider” Mogi also retired from active competition today, and she has stepped down as the matchmaker for the all-female promotion. In two new bouts added to Deep Jewels 3, Shizuka Sugiyama faces Mizuho Sato and Sachiko Fujimori takes on Shiori Hori.

Rena Kubota, Mio Tsumura Earn Wins At Shoot Boxing In OsakaOn Monday night, three-time Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup Champion Rena Kubota picked up her eighth straight win at Shoot Boxing 2013: “Tomohiro Oikawa Retirement Event” in Osaka, Japan. Kubota stopped short-notice replacement opponent Yuri Kim in the late stages of the opening round.

Weekend Recap: Larissa Moreira Pacheco Wins Jungle Fight TitleOn Saturday night, 19-year-old rising star Larissa Moreira Pacheco scored her biggest win to date at Jungle Fight 63 in Belém, Pará, Brazil. Pacheco stopped Mexican striker Irene Aldana in round three of the co-feature to win the inaugural Jungle Fight Women’s Bantamweight Championship.

Pacheco pressured Aldana with strikes on the feet right from the opening bell and both fighters threatened with submissions in a series of scrambles on the mat. In the final round, Pacheco dropped Aldana with a four-punch combination to become Jungle Fight’s first 135-pound female champion.

2013 Women's Mixed Martial Arts Awards NomineesVoting is now underway for the 2013 Women’s Mixed Martial Arts Awards. This year’s edition again features more than a dozen categories. These awards recognise notable achievements made by fighters, promotions and other individuals associated with the sport over the course of the past year.

Members of nine different mixed martial arts publications compiled the list of nominations for this year’s awards. A full list of categories and nominees, as well as fight videos for best fight, knockout and submission, is available below. Winners in each category will be announced at the end of December.
