Three middleweight bouts have been added to the upcoming Strikeforce: “Champions” event on January 12th in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Ronaldo “Jacaré” Souza looks for his third straight win when he faces rising star Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin.
In other 185-pound bouts on the card, multi-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Roger Gracie takes on Anthony “Lionheart” Smith, while former Strikeforce title challenger Tim Kennedy battles Trevor “Hot Sauce” Smith. All three fights were officially confirmed by the promotion earlier today.

Japan’s top female prospect, Mizuki Inoue, will make her strawweight debut at Jewels: “22nd Ring” on December 15th in Tokyo. Inoue is set to face Hyo Kyung Song in one of four bouts announced for the card today. The event will take place inside a cage for the first time in Jewels’ four-year history.
Also confirmed for the card is an atomweight bout between title contender Kikuyo Ishikawa and Tomo Maesawa. Ishikawa’s four-fight winning streak was snapped in December by Jewels champ Naho “Sugi Rock” Sugiyama, but she rebounded with a victory in May under the Pancrase banner.

Hard-hitting Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal has stepped in to replace injured Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Gilbert “El Niño” Melendez at Strikeforce: “Champions” on January 12th in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Masvidal will face Pat “Bam Bam” Healy in a bout first reported by MMAjunkie.com.
The January Strikeforce event was originally scheduled to feature three title fights, but middleweight champion Luke Rockhold was also forced out of his bout with Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin due to an injury. Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio and Amanda “Lioness of the Ring” Nunes will face off in a pivotal bantamweight bout at Invicta Fighting Championships 4 on January 5th in Kansas City, Kansas. The featured main card fight was one of a series of bouts officially announced for the event today.
Also confirmed for the card is a featherweight contender’s battle between Brazil’s Ediene “India” Gomes and Japan’s Hiroko “Cat’s Eye” Yamanaka. MMAjunkie.com first reported on plans for the Gomes-Yamanaka matchup in late October and the bout is now official for the Invicta FC 4 main card.

Tuff-N-Uff Women’s Flyweight Champion Cortney “Cast Iron” Casey earned another impressive win in the Tuff-N-Uff: “Feastibrawl” co-main event tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada. Casey submitted Rachael “The Panther” Cummins with a flying armbar in a non-title rematch from early in September.
Also tonight, former Tuff-N-Uff 115-pound champ Jillian “Justice” Lybarger rebounded from a submission setback in August by defeating Stephanie “The Shark” Gonzalez in a flyweight matchup. Lybarger overwhelmed the smaller Gonzalez with big power punches en route to a quick TKO victory.

Jewels Lightweight Queen Champion Ayaka Hamasaki will put her title on the line against Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino at Jewels: “22nd Ring” on December 15th in Tokyo, Japan. The three-round title fight was officially announced for the card today along with two additional matchups.
Jewels producer Yasuko Mogi makes her return to action for the first time since April 2010 when she takes on Keiko Tomita. Also confirmed for the December card is a kickboxing match between veteran Mayumi “Super Benkei” Aoki and Satoko Ozawa, who is 2-1 under the Jewels banner.

NAAFS champ Aisling “Ais The Bash” Daly will compete in her hometown of Dublin, Ireland when she faces Finnish prospect Katja Kankaanpää at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 51 on December 31st. The 120-pound catchweight bout was officially announced by the promotion today.
Daly looks to rebound from a decision loss to top flyweight contender Barb “Little Warrior” Honchak at Invicta FC 3 and is now considering a return to the strawweight division. Kankaanpää has yet to taste defeat and is coming off of her closest bout to date against Simona Soukupova in September.
