The Warriors Cage featured a pair of women’s bouts earlier this afternoon at TWC: “Meltdown” at the Eagle Mountain Casino Event Center in Porterville, California. Sisters Zoila “The Warrior Princess” Frausto and Stephanie “Macaquinha” Frausto both picked up stoppage victories.
Zoila weathered a tough first round in her battle with Michelle “Thundercat” Ould before Ould was forced to verbally submit due to an ankle injury in round two. Younger sister Stephanie overwhelmed and battered newcomer Elaine Garza en route to a dominant first-round TKO victory.
In the co-main event, Zoila (6-1-0) defeated Ould (4-3-0, 1 NC) by Verbal Submission (Ankle Injury) at 2:42 of round two.
Ould controlled most of the first round and took the fight to the ground with an impressive takedown. She struck from the top and moved to Frausto’s half-guard. Ould continued to keep the pressure on with strikes, but Frausto defended until the referee opted to stand the fighters up. The fight stayed on the feet until the bell, with both fighters landing strikes.
Ould remained aggressive in the second round and pushed the pace, but suffered an ankle injury while taking Frausto down. Ould wound up on the bottom and informed teammate Tonya Evinger at cageside that she could not feel her leg. She tried to fight on, but was forced to submit and was taken to a local medical facility following the fight.
Result: Zoila Frausto defeats Michelle Ould by Verbal Submission (Ankle Injury) at 2:42 of round two. She improves to 6-1-0 with the win.
Earlier in the evening, Stephanie (2-1-0) defeated MMA debutant Elaine Garza (0-1-0) by TKO (Elbows) at 2:18 of round one.
Frausto, who weighed in heavy at 113 pounds for the 110-pound matchup, drawfed the much smaller Garza, who weighed in at just 102 pounds and agreed to take the fight anyway. Frausto took Garza down early in the first round and punished her with punches and elbows from the top. Shortly after the two-minute mark, Frausto unleashed a barrage of elbows that prompted the referee to stop the fight. Garza’s face was swollen and bruised following the stoppage.

A war of words between Ould and the elder Frausto continued after the fight and a rematch down the line may be a possibility. Ould appeared to be in control of the fight prior to the injury, but Frausto walks away with the victory and rebounds after suffering her first loss in Strikeforce.
