DEEP Adds Amanda Lucas vs Yuiga To "Cage Impact" In TokyoDEEP Women’s Open-Weight Champion Amanda “Powerhouse” Lucas will return to action on December 8th at DEEP: “Cage Impact 2012 In Tokyo” at Differ Ariake in Tokyo, Japan. Lucas faces pro wrestling veteran Yuiga in a non-title fight on the card. The bout was officially announced today.

Lucas captured the inaugural open-weight championship in February with a third-round submission victory over the returning Yumiko Hotta. She has won all three of her bouts under the DEEP banner. Smackgirl veteran Yuiga will compete in mixed martial arts for the first time in more than five years.

Lucas (4-1-0) is currently riding a four-fight winning streak and she has become one of the more popular competitors on the DEEP roster. The adopted daughter of Star Wars creator George Lucas has stepped out of her famous father’s shadow by making her mark on MMA and establishing herself as a star in the sport in Japan. Lucas has earned submission finishes in each of her three fights for DEEP and claimed her first title with the win over Hotta.

Yuiga (3-5-0) will enter the bout with Lucas as a significant underdog and has not fought since a corner stoppage loss in November 2007. She has knocked out or submitted her opponents in each of her three wins, including a 2003 triumph over one-time EliteXC competitor Keiko “Tama Chan” Tamai.

While Lucas’s title will not be on the line next month, the bout with Yuiga will use a special rule set that permits elbow strikes. The use of elbows is rarely permitted in Japanese MMA promotions and DEEP has billed the fight as a special challenge match.
