Shayna Baszler vs Alexis Davis Rematch Set For July 30A rematch from one of the top women’s fights of 2010 has been announced for The Cage Inc. “Battle at the Border 10” on July 30th in Hankinson, North Dakota. Submission ace Shayna “The Queen of Spades” Baszler will put her 140-pound TCI title on the line when she faces Alexis Davis once again.

The matchup was made official by the promotion today, and it will serve as both fighters’ first bouts since earning wins in November. Baszler captured her TCI belt with a first-round kneebar submission of Elaina Maxwell, while Davis defended her Raging Wolf women’s title against Tonya Evinger.

Baszler (14-6-0) and Davis (9-4-0) first engaged in a spirited ground battle at Freestyle Cage Fighting 40 on March 27, 2010, with Baszler emerging victorious via a razor-thin and somewhat contentious Unanimous Decision. Davis had appeared to take two of three rounds in the back-and-forth bout, but Baszler’s win propelled her to the finals of the FCF Women’s Bantamweight Tournament, which she won by submitting Adrienna Jenkins.

Sixteen months removed from the first bout, the jiu-jitsu specialists will face off for a second time as Davis looks to add another championship title to her growing collection at Baszler’s expense. Davis has posted five submission victories to date and had an answer for Baszler’s crafty ground game in the first meeting. All 13 of Baszler’s other wins have come by way of submission, however, and she is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous ground fighters in any women’s division.

The Cage Inc. “Battle at the Border 10” is scheduled for July 30th at the Dakota Magic Casino in Hankinson, North Dakota. The event also features a second women’s bout between talented striker Nina “The Macedonian Mauler” Ansaroff and Casey “KO” Noland.
