Kaitlin Young To Face Jamie Seaton At "Fall Brawl"Knockout artist Kaitlin Young is set to return to mixed martial arts action on September 11th in Fargo, North Dakota. The Circle Pines, Minnesota native will square off with San Francisco’s Jamie Seaton in a 135-pound matchup in the co-main event of Crowbar MMA: “Fall Brawl.”

Young most recently competed in the Freestyle Cage Fighting Women’s Bantamweight Grand Prix in January, but was defeated in the first round by rising star Jennifer “Rosebud” Tate. Seaton, who has split time between 135 and 145 pounds, has won two straight fights.

Young (4-4-0) became an overnight sensation on November 24, 2007 when she won the HOOKnSHOOT Women’s Tournament with a trio of devastating first-round knockouts. The Muay Thai standout suffered her first loss just over two months later, but her exciting style led to a high-profile matchup with Gina “Conviction” Carano on CBS television for the EliteXC promotion in May 2008. Following a lengthy layoff, Young returned to action last November, but ring rust appeared to play a factor and she was ultimately defeated by Shana “Rock Solid” Olsen in the second round.

Seaton (2-1-0) made her pro debut on February 21, 2009 and engaged in a highly entertaining and competitive battle with Katrina Alendal before eventually succumbing to an armbar in the third round. She has since bounced back with a pair of victories over Emily “Timebomb” Thompson and Nikohl Johnson. The win over Thompson was particularly notable, as Thompson previously fought Strikeforce signee Erin Toughill to a three-round decision. A victory over Young would be a big step forward for Seaton as she looks to pick up her third straight win.

Crowbar MMA: “Fall Brawl,” presented by UFC heavyweight Chris “The Crowbar” Tuchscherer, takes place on September 11th at the Urban Plains Center in Fargo, North Dakota. The card also features a second women’s fight between Michelle Gutierrez and Shimone Brooks at 120 pounds. In heavyweight action, TUF 10 alum Zak Jensen takes on Zach Thumb, while middleweights Anthony “Lionheart” Smith and UFC veteran Jesse “Kid Hercules” Forbes square off in the main event.

  1. Kaitlin Young has incredible Muay Thai. I’m surprised that she didn’t do better in her fight wtih Gina Carano.

  2. Smith is gonna smash forbes!
