Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson Arrested

Quinton Jackson Arrested

by Robert Sargent

Former Undisputed UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson was arrested at gunpoint earlier today, following a high-speed chase in his custom lifted truck through the suburbs of California between Costa Mesa and Newport Beach.

Jackson allegedly collided with two cars at 19th Street and Newport Boulevard, then struck another vehicle during the subsequent five-minute chase from the scene.

A Costa Mesa police officer apparently tried to pull Jackson over following the initial collisions, but Jackson continued driving, allegedly veering into oncoming traffic and onto a sidewalk, scaring nearby pedestrians.

During the chase, Jackson's truck was reportedly running on three wheels on numerous occasions, with one tire blown out from the initial crashes. He was said to be en route to the house of one of his training partners, and gave himself up to police in front of the residence.

Pictures of Jackson's arrest have surfaced on TMZ.com, depicting Jackson lying face down on the pavement with officers surrounding him with their guns drawn.

Jackson's bail was reportedly set at $25,000 US, and UFC President Dana White travelled to the jail to post bail for his star fighter.

Coming off of a very controversial loss to Forrest Griffin at UFC 86, this is obviously an extremely upsetting turn of events for Jackson, whose future is unclear.
