Jason Day To Face Michael Bisping

Leben Out, Day In At UFC 85

by Robert Sargent

After Chris Leben suffered legal issues that will see him in stuck jail for 35 days, Canadian Jason "Dooms" Day has stepped in to take on Michael "The Count" Bisping at the upcoming UFC 85 event on June 7th in London, England.

Leben had voluntarily turned himself in earlier in the week after violating the terms of his parole from a DUI arrest in 2005, and was sentenced to 35 days in prison on Thursday.

Day, who entered the UFC after an extremely controversial Split Decision victory over David Loiseau, made a huge impact at UFC 83 in Montreal, completely destroying Alan "The Talent" Belcher in the first round. He had previously stated that he wanted a chance to fight Bisping, and has been granted his wish.

To his credit, Bisping is not taking the new challenger lightly, openly praising Day in an interview for the UFC. If the same Day shows up as the one who ran through Belcher, Bisping could be in for a short and painful night.
