Santos Out Of HCF "Crow's Nest"

Today, Hardcore Championship Fighting announced that the main event on their March 29th card, "Crow's Nest," in Gatineau, Quebec, has an opponent change. Terminated from his contract is Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos.

"This is due to the fact that Mr. Santos chose to execute a competing contract inside the minimum time period allowed by HCF's terms for fighters to engage in other events."

HCF CEO Keith Crawford made the announcement earlier today.


"It is with a heavy heart we terminate Cyborg's contract, as he is one of my favourite fighters. However, we cannot allow fighters to dictate the terms of contracts to us, as this can impact the integrity of our events," said Dave Houshiar, HCF President.


In Santos's place, in the main event against David "The Crow" Loiseau, will be Canadian Todd Gouwenberg, who will drop down to 185 after an impressive performance in defeat in his light heavyweight battle with top-10 light heavyweight Antonio Rogerio "Minotoro" Nogueira at HCF's "Destiny" event on February 1st.

Hardcore Championship Fighting is excited about this new Main Event, as well they should be. Gouwenberg did very well against Nogueira, while Loiseau will be fighting in front of his hometown crowd. This East vs. West Canadian tilt will give both fighters reason to shine.

The circumstances of this fight are a marketing dream for HCF. Loiseau, as well as numerous others, feels he won his Calgary fight against Jason Day at "Destiny," and wants to come out blazing. Gouwenberg is very confident coming off of the fight with Nogueira at 205 pounds, and is excited to test his skills at 185.


Hardcore Championship Fighting's "Crow's Nest" event will take place on March 29th. With an excellent main event and an undercard which is already shaping up to be a solid one, it looks to be yet another successful event for HCF.
