Jéssica Andrade Stops Jessica Penne At UFC 199 In CaliforniaBrazilian standout Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade made a successful strawweight debut with a dominant TKO win tonight at UFC 199: “Rockhold vs Bisping 2” in Inglewood, California. Andrade stopped former Invicta FC champion Jessica Penne in the second round of a one-sided matchup.

Andrade kept Penne on the defensive right from the opening minute of the fight. She landed barrages of heavy punches that kept the Californian pinned against the cage wall. Penne stayed on her feet, but a final flurry of punches in round two gave Andrade the biggest victory of her pro career.

Andrade (14-5-0) backed Penne (12-4-0) up with hard punches right away and she clinched with Penne against the cage soon after. Penne countered with knees, but Andrade cracked her with another big combination. Penne, whose face began to swell up, pressed forward with a body kick and a takedown attempt, but Andrade shrugged it off and backed her up with more punches. She dropped Penne with a lengthy flurry to the body and head before the end of the dominant round.

Early in the second stanza, Andrade picked up where she left off in round one by hurting Penne with a powerful combination of punches. She picked Penne apart with quick punches throughout the round and easily avoided Penne’s attempts to take the fight to the mat. Andrade landed a final rapid-fire barrage of dozens of unanswered punches until referee Jason Herzog finally intervened to stop the fight.

Following her impressive victory tonight, Andrade campaigned for a fight against former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Carla “Cookie Monster” Esparza at an upcoming event in Brazil. Andrade was in talks to face Esparza at UFC Fight Night 88 this past weekend, but the fight failed to materialise.

Winner: Jéssica Andrade by TKO (Punches) at 2:56 of round two. She improves to 14-5-0.

  1. JESSICA PENNE may want to consider BJJ tournaments from this point forward. She has no hands and yet welcomes them to her face. She fought with no sense of urgency and her kicks were reminiscent of a sparring session. She indicated to Ariel that she has never watched tape of her fight against Joanna. Missed opportunity has begotten another. One more loss and she will walking the aisles of The Hangar.
